When I was 25 I was in the middle of a root canal with another dentist. In the middle of all that I was diagnosed with Cancer and decided to leave my job to pursue other interests. The original dentist fired me as a client as I no longer had health insurance. Scared unsure where to turn I started calling around and Dr. Wolven accepted me with an open chair. He not only fixed me up but treated me with so much kindness I never looked back. I am almost 50 now and see Dr. Wolven for everything. He has helped me when I was in a bad car accident when my front teeth were chipped and broken he fixed them, he helped me after hours when I had such bad tooth pain I was on the ground in discomfort. I know he's going to retire sooner than later and I am dreading the day. His entire office has been a beacon and I am so glad I ended up in his office over 2 decades ago. As one patient has said, he is a gem in our small town. I love Dr. Wolven and his team they are the absolute best. I do not know why others have given only one star or had a bad experience. I know you can not make everyone happy, I can only say with certainty in my experience, his office is full of fantastic professionals from the desk to the procedure room. I would give 10 stars if it were possible.

From top to bottom this is by far the best Dentist office, and probably even medical office in general, in Humboldt County. Friendly and helpful staff, amazingly wonderful hygienists and Dr. Wolven is a wealth of knowledge. I leave their office with a smile and feel like I have been well served every time. They provide excellent supportive education and I have seen a real difference in my dental health because of their interventions. My entire family go to this office and I readily recommend them to anyone who is looking for a Dentist.

I love this dentist so much! He is the sweetest, most intelligent, very talented dentist! He does the best cosmetic work on the planet. Now I understand why people literally fly out from southern California to see him. He is a hidden gem in little Eureka, California and the universe should know about him. If you want perfect cosmetic dentistry or gentle, excellent family dentistry, come to this man. You will not regret it! Thank you Dr. Richard Wolven for being the greatest dentist!

I agree. I avoided the dentist for years (thank god I have good teeth) but this dentist is kind of like having Dr. Tucker for adults. Those from Humboldt will get that review~

Not a good bedside manner. Known hin since i was 5 i am now 51. He is very rude in his dealings with a patient. Do not reccomend him at all.
