I went in without an appointment for a blood draw, and I was greeted with very friendly service from everyone. I had never been to Yale before, so a woman helped me make an account with them. She was very friendly and put me at ease - I don't have much experience with medical stuff. Then the wait was less than 5 minutes and the blood draw was very quick as well.

The Pediatric Clinic staff are very nice and help create a fun atmosphere for the kids while being professional. The rooms are spacious and kept clean. The waiting room is spacious. No toys or table since COVID but they normally have us in before we sit down.

Extremely Disappointed with Billing and Service

I had a very brief (less than 30-minute) consultation with Dr. Bruno Cardoso, MD for a snoring issue. The visit provided no solutions, prescriptions, or advice beyond basic, widely known information.

Crucially, without any discussion of the cost, a quick procedure (laryngoscopy) was performed.

I was shocked to receive a surprise bill totaling nearly $2,000 for this short, unhelpful visit, including:

Office Visit: $635, Laryngoscopy: $600, Hospital Facility Fee: $690

The lack of transparency about both the procedure cost and the egregious facility fee is unacceptable. The subsequent billing inquiry process has been stressful and confusing. I urge Yale New Haven Health to review this matter immediately and provide a full, detailed explanation of the charges and coding. This felt like an attempt to maximize billing rather than provide care.

Incredibly fast and efficient lab, knowledgeable and professional staff, very clean lobby and medical areas. Just be aware that the lab portion of this facility is closed for lunch (12:30pm - 1:30pm). You are welcome to wait, or come back. I recommend this place to everyone.

Took my one year old for a blood draw ordered by her pediatrician. We traveled 30 minutes to this location because our pediatrician said they are good with kids. What happened instead was a complete nightmare I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. The two phlebotomists didn’t have a single clue between them about what they were doing. They stuck my one year old in the arm multiple times, making her bleed everywhere. Then they jiggled the needle around as she screamed in pain. They were rough, violent, and both of them acting like they’d never seen a baby in their life. The blonde lady doing most of the butchering of my child’s arm kept blaming my BABY for being “too wiggly.” As opposed to what, a statue of a baby? She’s a baby, of course she’s scared and hurting and of course she’s going to cry. Then she brought in a blanket and instructed us to wrap our traumatized, crying baby up like an unruly cat at the vets office because she couldn’t draw blood unless my daughter was physically restrained apparently. This is supposed to be a pediatric department? I have no idea what kind of place they’re running in old saybrook but this was the worst ever yale experience I’ve had. This was an emotionally traumatic NIGHTMARE and I called my pediatrician immediately to let them know, so hopefully they won’t sent more unsuspecting parents of young children to this torture chamber. Absolutely horrifying and inexcusable.

Very easy to get to;right off the highway. The receptionists at the front are very friendly and helpful and check you in quickly. Then you wait in a somewhat communal waiting room--and then they call you to your doctor, or to the lab. The wait times are not bad at all. I have a few of my doctors there, and they are all wonderful. I really like this center, and am glad Yale opened it up on the shoreline--closer drive then to go into New Haven. Great experience.

Great location, saves a long drive to New Haven.
The site offers very nice and accommodating staff in every Dept, and the lab is especially wonderful. I need blood work often and the trip to OS from Westbrook is very easy and all the lab techs make getting tested very easy and painless.

Waiting room was zero wait to check in and zero stress, short time in waiting room. Receptionists were awesome and knowledgeable, helpful making me an appointment!! The female doctor and the two nurses or PA's I worked with were 12/10 professional and compassionate. Thanks ladies!!!!!
