Going to the dentist can be an unpleasant experience, but it doesn’t have to be. Doctor Nick not only is a rock star dentist, he also makes me feel at ease during my visit and routinely keeps me entertained with his witty sense of humor and life experiences. If he can manage that through a tooth extraction, that speaks volumes to me about his abilities and caring nature. Dr Refahi and his entire team are amazing. I'm going through major dental issues and I am so happy I found True Design Dentistry. Unfortunately, dental care is not cheap but the office will work with you to make informed, cost-effective decisions. Dr Refahi is extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional. Special shout out to Karina and Sarah for making what can be a stressful visit, a calm and relaxed one. They are simply amazing.

So this is what a modern dentist office feels like! I didn’t realize my previous dentist was something out of the 70s until I met Dr. Nick and his team. A procedure for a crown previously required a visit for the mold, a visit for the temp crown, (and more of that temp crown falls out), and third for permanent fitting— here they do it in ONE FELL SWOOP. For example yesterday I went in at 9am and they immediately worked on the cavity, post drilling they digitally scan your bite to create a 3D rendering of the molar (Dr Nick showed me the edits he made to the rendering), 10am I took a stroll around Target across the street, and came back at 10:45 when they wrapped up “cooking” my crown. Bonus I was still numb and didn’t need any extra needles when they fitted the permanent crown- I was out by 11:30. The staff reminds me of a fine dining establishment where they anticipate your needs without you actually asking. 15/10 for quality of service!

Dr. Refahi is a skilled dentist, but in recent years, he has taken on too many patients, which has impacted the time he can dedicate to each one. Much of the work is now handled by assistants, who, while generally competent, can vary in experience and skill.

During my last visit, I ended up staying an extra hour due to a piece of cement getting stuck and curing between two teeth. This oversight caused multiple wounds in my mouth that could have been avoided with a bit more care and attention. Five days later, these wounds are still painfully lingering, leaving me disappointed with the rushed and inattentive service.
