My dad came to ER early morning on Thursday, june 25th a little after 12am, he was not seen until 5am. He had severe abdominal pain and stomach bloating. (He is also a heart patient and aneurysm) (Several other patients also in waiting room for numerous hours before being seen.) Finally after getting in back after sitting in waiting room 5 hours, he was diagnosed with a hemorrhagic gangrenous gallbladder and his abdomen was filling with blood. Thankfully, once we finally got in the back the ER nurses were great and past there all has been good. Emergency surgery done and he was placed in ICU. The nurses and staff in ICU are phenomenal.
However, We will NOT be back to the ER at tift regional. We will drive to Albany or moultrie.

This hospital has to be the worst place for supposed medical care in the world. My wife was internally bleeding. I had to beg, threaten and everything in-between to get her to go and even then she was opposed. I kept telling her she mattered and that she needs treatment. Upon getting there we were standing at check-in behind one person for 30 minutes. Then we waited in the waiting room for an hour before they checked her vitals. She was in pain the whole time and I was just being supportive and telling her soon she will be seen. We were called into a room where she explained what had been going on for a week now, nurse seemed to care little and put my wife's information in the computer. We were then instructed to wait in the waiting room until further notice. After another hour and a half a woman named Mrs. Savage (allegedly a "patient advocate" for the patients) got on the floor and told everyone that there has been a serious incident where people were driven from around Georgia to be treated and life flighted from Tift Regional and essentially suggested that they matter more than patients waiting to be seen, when asked if there was an ETA, she repeated that those that want to be seen before others are selfish and those being seen currently matter more and that it is all hands on deck in the ER (whilst she went home at 11pm). After waiting for another 2 hours without any result we left, not without me telling the front staff that I've seen animals treated at veterinarian clinics better. My wife is still internally bleeding and suffering from severe pain. Hopefully this next hospital will care about it's patients no matter who you are or where you come from and treat all problems like it's an emergency.

Should have listened to others advice and drive to Valdosta or Moultrie or Albany. Adverse medication reaction after spine injection with trouble breathing, chest tightness, and throat tightness was not important enough to get the Dr involved quickly. At what point would a Dr see a person quickly? Never here.

Hours and hours waiting and finally left to go to another ER. Was treated much better and very quickly due to seriousness of the issue.

Horrible experience, this hospital is not a place to have your child. Go elsewhere or have the baby at home. Very unprofessional and caused a lot of bull that my family didn’t need.
Communication within the hospital is very very poor. They will send you back and forth because neither worker wants to work. One says the other has to do it the other says the same about the other.
Your better off having your child at home!

Worst hospital experience of my life. The ER patients were actually yelling after waiting six or more hours without being seen, while staff appeared indifferent. We received zero communication and had to beg just to speak with someone. After more than four hours, a nurse admitted there was no one available to look at our file. We left after 4.5 hours without ever being seen. If you have insufficient staff, no rooms and no holding beds available, at least come out and communicate and give us the option to go somewhere else for Care. Not to mention that the restrooms in the ER were so filthy, you increase your health risks just walking in. Completely unacceptable and dangerous. Do not come here if you value your health. This kind of inept management of people and processes begins at the top.

If I could give a zero i would, waited 10hrs with my u79 yr old uncle who I informed staff that he had recently had a stroke, lied to about wait time. If you have a true emergency please don't waste your time because there's no hurry to wait you

I have to share this. For the last two years my family especially my 82 year old mother has had the worst and I mean the worst experiences in the ER so we started going to Moultrie but tonight we were left no choice but to go to Tift ER and I can’t believe the incredible experience we had there with my mom. The ER has a new Medical Director and he was absolutely amazing. Mom’s doctor who took care of her was amazing as well. Can’t forget her nurse who was just as amazing. From the front to the back I can’t say enough. I can not believe how much things have changed in such a short time! Speaking with the Medical Director he shared how focused and determined he is to turn this ER around and I literally saw it with my own eyes! We were in and out in no time. Thank you for taking such good care of my mom!! Job well done!
