The customer service has been on a steady and rapid decline here. Unfortunately over the past couple years it’s gone from friendly and family focused to an attitude of arrogance. We’ve had to deal with multiple rescheduled appointments and 1 hour plus waits in the waiting room after our appointment times. Yet after showing up 2minutes late for one appointment we were told we couldn’t be seen and would need to reschedule. The respect of time is a one way street. It’s a bummer to have a dentist office we once really enjoyed turn into a place that feels entitled to your business regardless of their own actions.

I'm beginning to get really frustrated with the ortho side. They are too busy and appts are too far in-between because no availability. This makes treatment longer than it needs to be.

Also, the orthodontists keep changing here. Our treatment plan has been with at least four orthodontists. It's a rotating door of orthodontists. New doctors mean new evaluations and longer treatment time.

Dr. Stevens is no longer there. He said progress is a bit slow because he wasn't part of the team on my son's treatment. Then I just found out he too just left the practice. Here we go again. Yet another orthodontist.

I hope they can get it together.

Love the dental side. No complaints there. 10/10.

My daughter and husband are both Surfside ortho patients. My husband is getting Invisalign and my daughter has traditional metal braces. They both love going to Surfside! The staff is friendly, professional and takes great care of my family. The office is clean and is really cute inside! Love the surfing/beach theme! They even have video games for the kiddos to play while they wait.

I've been taking my kids to Surfside for several years now, and I've never been happier with a dentist! One of the employees, Stella, has helped me with appointments and billing, and has been a joy to work with. The hygienist are great with the kids, and the dentists are the best! I highly recommend Surfside.

I am writing a review only for the Surfside Kids Orthodontics department. Also, 1 star is for the front desk ladies, assistants, and Dr. Steven who are nice and work very hard for the patients. Here are the reasons why I gave a bad review and don't recommend any parents for the ortho services.
First of all, I can only see the doctor on Wedesdays and Thursdays. Others days, I can only make a call for any questions and someone will get back to me in a day or two. Therefore, there are 12- 13 weeks waiting period between each appointment which is ridiculous. I noticed the consequences of the short staff issues since last year, but it was never 13 weeks apart. The manager informed me that there is enough staff, but then I don't understand why my daughter has to wait that long for the appointment. It used to be 4-8 weeks, but now it has become 13 weeks. I complained about it, and the manager did fix the date. However, after the treatment was done, she was given the next appointment 13 weeks later. The owner who is responsible for has not fixed the problem.
My daughter has been getting the treatment since 2020, and the following year, my other 2 daughters have joined in, but I so regret that decision. Back then the orthodontist was great, and the office was running the way it should; However, ever since the owner changed, it went down pretty bad. My daughters went through 2 different orthodontists, and the short staff issue has caused delay in getting the appointments, not enough dates for an emergency appointment, and too many weeks waiting between the appointments.
Almost 4 years have passed, and my first one still has 1 year or more to complete her treatment. I understand that each child varies with the time and effort to fix the problem, but 13 weeks between the appointment is absolutely ridiculous!
I complained again about not being able to get an emergency appointment because otherwise, my daughters are stuck with broken parts which causes pain, stress, and delays in getting it fixed. Last time, I went in for poky brace, the front desk lady did work out to get it fixed. Maybe, they know me now as a complain lady or they are making some changes... but I am not changing my review until the appointment dates are fixed permanently.
I started the treatment for my first daughter early so that she can be done before the high school year, and because of their inability to fix the issue, my daughters have to endure lots of inconveniences, pain and stress longer.. which defeated my purpose .. now I am stuck with more of calling the office to pull them out and drop them off again, dealing with unexcused or excused absences... my daughter is getting more of Ap classes next year and she can't afford to miss important classes anymore.. I am so frustrated and resent that the issues have not been fixed, and my daughters and I are stuck with the consequences of their lack of ability to run business the way it should.

Clean and friendly environment; knowledgeable staff; customer service here is amazing; the set up is kid friendly from toys to tvs and video games its the perfect atmosphere for kids scared of the dentist or that child just waiting for his/her sibling; one of those places you can feel comfortable taking your children to.

My kids love coming here. My youngest was so nervous about getting her first dental exam, but the staff at Surfside made her visit so enjoyable she wants to comeback.

The office is so kid friendly. There's videos playing, video games, play structures for little ones, play rooms, and a fully stocked snack area.

Also, the customer service for making appts are beyond great. They make setting up dental visits a breeze and accommodates to any changes without hesitation no matter how last minute it is.

It feels like a good old fashioned homely dental office. I'm glad I found them.

My two children, 16 and 12, are patients at Surfside and love going to their dental office. The staff is wonderful and my daughter who is now 12 does not have anymore anxiety since they have been patients here. Very kid friendly and when I asked how the visit went she was excited to talk about it. Even the fact that she may have to get a tooth pulled didn't stress her out. The staff is always patient and good about easing stress.
