Hola soy José, tengo 74, me hicieron un trabajo de matar el nervio, me dieron antibiótico para evitar infeccion, tomarlo todo, el día antes de la segunda cita, me llamaron para que me tomara 4 cápsulas antes de mi cita les dije que me las termine como decía en el contenedor, me dice, quién me llamo, entonces venga por una receta, porque el doctor no lo podrá ver si no se toma esas cápsulas, le dije que era una inconveniencia para mí ir, pregunté si podían mandarla, por fax a la farmacia dijo que asi no trabajaban, bueno fui por ella, en ese lapso de días se cayeron dos rellenos que habia puesto el"doctor", en le siguiente cita pago exactamente lo mismo o sea que este doctor asi trabaja, tengan mucho cuidado, mientras estaba yo siendo atendido mi novia tuvo conversaciones con dos personas, las dos contando sus malas experiencias, me despido buena suerte si caen en manos de este ""doctor". The reviews with the long wait times are spot on.
I had an appointment however from the time that I finished all the paperwork and then waited in the lobby was close to 50 minutes after my appointment time.
From there I waited another 30-40 minutes to have my xrays taken.

At this point I've been here for 2 hours since checking in and am just waiting in the patient chair for a cleaning.
The office manager was helpful in explaining the other procedures I'm unfamiliar with. I opted out of them and only opted in for a cleaning. However I received a quick polish that took less than 10 minutes. If I didn't have any tartar buildup then it would've been helpful to be informed of that.

Overall time spent was around 30 minutes for xrays, clarifying procedure information, and a polishing. To the credit of the scheduling agent, I was told that the procedure would take about half an hour. The other hour and a half of waiting around was not planned nor should have happened.

If you're someone who wants constant reminders, this might be the place for you though.
They send plenty of texts and calls to remind you of your appointment time.
That said, it's a bit ironic how time is prioritized in person versus in these reminder texts and calls.

Overall, staff were trying their best, but the time prioritization and consideration could be handled much better.

Heed my warning.

This place is really bad. I mean really, really bad.

If you're a poor working-class millennial Latino/a like myself, I get it, you'll take what you can get when you can get it. But there's got to be a limit, a standard, even for us.

I work 6 days a week, so getting an appointment on my one day off is hard enough, right?

Sunshine Dental in El Monte already soured me a little bit in 2018 when a 1.5 hour procedure turned into a 3+ hour procedure and I missed my midterm for veterinary school. The doctor kept leaving me lying there during a root canal to tend to other patients. For that reason alone, I didn't go back for years.

But this past year I thought I'd give it another shot. And for a little while, things were going okay.

But recently, I noticed that I was being seen later and later. What's the definition of an appointment again? Ten minutes, fifteen minutes, twenty minutes...but I have empathy. I worked in the veterinary field, I know how medical settings in any scenario can go and sometimes staff gets put way behind unexpectedly. I get it.

On 04/07/23, I had an appointment for 1:00 PM but wasn't called in to be seen until 2:00 PM. Yes, SIXTY minutes past. An hour. I waited an hour, without anyone giving me any updates whatsoever. I was irked, but I have patience.

A few weeks later I missed an appointment because I take public transportation and my bus was delayed by 40 minutes.

I rescheduled for 04/28/23 at 5:00 PM and was bombarded with multiple texts and calls to confirm. Excessive, much? I confirmed multiple times but was still getting the texts. It was obvious they were upset I missed my last appointment.

But come 04/28/23 and I'm sitting in the waiting room at 5:25 PM with no end in sight. There's someone else in the waiting room with me and he's called in before me. So how much longer? Twenty minutes? Will this be another instance where I'll be seen an hour past my appointment? I didn't bother asking, I just walked out and rescheduled for 05/12/23 at 12:00 PM through text.

That's today, and I thought it was weird that I didn't get those harassing text messages that they usually send. What a red flag that was, because I showed up at 11:30 AM today (early against my will, trust me, if I had the choice, I would've shown up at 12:15 PM). That's when they tell me that I'm not on the schedule. What?

They claim they sent me multiple texts and calls to confirm and that I supposedly ignored all of them. I have solid proof that I received no such calls, and even produced the text messages confirming for 05/12/23. Their attitude changed to apologetic pretty fast, but I still couldn't be seen. What a waste.

Upon rescheduling, the administrator had the audacity to cite my walking out on 04/28/23, saying that they "reserved" the entire hour for me that day, insinuating that my walking out wasted that hour for them. How is that possible, if I was still sitting in the waiting room at 5:25 PM and someone else had been called in before me?

So we as patients are expected to respect Sunshine Dental's time, but they can do whatever they heck they want with ours?

That doesn't sit right with me. At all.

This facility does not respect their patients. And for that alone, you need to go elsewhere. Which is already difficult enough when you can barely afford rent in this city on a 45+ hour work schedule. I'm doing my research now and I'm here to say that San Marino Dentistry looks very promising.

ALLEN & WASHINGTON DENTAL IS AMAZING!!!
They are located in Pasadena on Washington. Amazing staff, beautiful office, and they NEVER WASTE YOUR TIME!!! I will be leaving them a glowing review shortly. TRUST ME! ✨✨

Always friendly and professional! I used to hate going to the dentist, as they’d never numb me right before procedures. Here, they take the time to prep you and make sure you’re comfortable before proceeding! Love it (:

Worst dentist I've ever visited. First visit for a root canal, there was a dead cockroach on the floor next me during the whole procedure.
They changed the cost calculations between turns and and the "doctor" who apparently only shows up once a month, is angry and eccentric to say the least.
Complete trash.

Best dentist...best doctors... LOVE THE STAFF... ? surgeries..cleanings...implants...braces...they are gentle, and on the wallet too...very respectful...and clean. Will continue to recommend.
