I was a patient of Dr. Senn’s for almost a decade and very much appreciated all of the excellent dental work that he did for me over the years. His staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and I always looked forward to my appointments for teeth cleaning and repairs. This all ended with the reorganization of his office in 2019 and the arrival of the woman billed as the office manager, Lisa. I have never encountered such a rude and disrespectful person who was supposedly occupying a position that was supposed to be helpful and accommodating to patients. After she appeared to deliberately botch up some insurance payment information around some expensive dental work that Dr. Senn did for me, and she continuously gave me misinformation around the claim, I realized that I was dealing with someone who more that likely was suffering from a serious behavioral problem. I decided with some sadness to find another dentist. Happily I did and one that is closer to home in Petaluma where I live. However, the dealings with Lisa at Dr. Senn’s office in Sebastopol were not quite over with yet! My new dentist’s office requested my last set of x-rays from Dr. Senn’s office. This was not an unusual request and is common practice. The next thing I know I receive a call from Lisa that I must sign a release form for the x-rays which was fine by me, but she also informed me that I would have to pay a fee! My husband is a doctor and according to him and to my new dental office, demanding a fee for the release of my x-rays was not only unethical but also illegal. I called Lisa back and told her that I refused to pay any fees for the release of my x-rays and further that I would lodge a complaint with the Dental Regulatory Board and the Better Business Bureau. Shortly thereafter my new dental office received a very incomplete set of old outdated x-rays. So much for cooperation and working on behalf of a patient’s best interests. I have no idea how a seriously disturbed person like Lisa can be allowed to wield so much negative influence in a dental practice that once prided itself on genuine care and compassion in dealing with its patients. That Lisa has been allowed to continue with her toxic behaviors without Dr. Senn or Dr. Mann intervening is incomprehensible to me. That this woman hasn’t driven off most of Dr. Senn’s patients is miraculous. I have no idea what happened at Dr. Senn’s practice to allow such a person as Lisa to wield such control over every aspect of the office, but I am deeply sorry that it came to this. Meanwhile, I am very happy with my new dentist and aside from being a real state of the art practice, my new dentist is incredibly knowledgeable, highly skilled, and genuinely compassionate and thoughtful, and the office staff are all genuinely friendly, highly competent and free of any obvious psychological issues.

Dr. Senn has been my dental provider now for a few years. I am close to being done with my dental treatment. I am very pleased with Dr. Senn's work and the staff. The front staff is very kind and informative. The back office staff handles procedures with ease and knowledge and makes me feel very comfortable. I am so glad I found this dental office and I highly recommend them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Senn for many many years. He is an excellent dentist. My last four visits have been quite unpleasant because of the difficult and disrectful interactions of Lisa the office manager. She is rude, curt and seemingly most impatient with the very simplistic requests and her frustration in explaining something when patient is not understanding what she is attempting to discuss. I have been in the waiting area and have heard her speaking to other patients the same way.. It happened again this morning and she basically told me to be quiet. When I finally said that she was being rude, she brushed me off with a push back about being quiet. It was humiliating and most disrespectful. This is not the first time I have communicated how difficult and unpleasant her interactions are. I clearly communicated to my hygienist how upsetting it was and asked her to communicate to her superiors. While Dr. Senn has been my dentist for many years I will have to discern if it is worth leaving very upset each time after dealing with this unpleasant and unprofessional person at the front desk.

I loved this dentist until they hired Lisa! She is rude and pushy. I realized at my last visit it was time to move my family to another dentist when she said “Dr. Senn’s patients are sensitive and we are no longer catering to that, you can do this my way or move your care to another provider”. I was shocked, my family had been with this office for 10years. I have seen Lisa literally make people break down crying, she has no empathy for how much dental work cost. Lisa will push you into an appointment saying things to you like, “if your not going to care about your teeth someone has to”. Dr. Senn and Mann are amazing, to bad they have someone running their office who is disrespecting the values that built their successful business.

I've have been patient at this practice for about 21 years until today.
I used to say that Dr. Senn was the best dentist in the world--but things change and sometimes people become pillars of salt, or some other metaphor of oblivion, and then stonewalls.
I do not recommend this office.
They are hard sell with a closer--they deny patient autonomy for profits. The patient does not get to decide.
The doctor refuses to discuss your treatment plan and hands it off to the "office manager" closer, and you better check the right "treatment plan".
If you refuse to be controlled they stop answering the phone.
Crowns $2250
Glue it back on $300 (but we don't do that)
Write a note to the dentist? No response. Write another? No response. Ask for your dental records? "Ten maybe twenty days".
Oh you need the X-rays too?
Ten maybe twenty days.
They made a referral to an oral surgeon, don't send the x-rays that you already paid for. Six times requested.
This is my experience.
Yes, it is shocking.

Dr. Senn is the best of the best. I travel to his office from Humboldt County regularly. He replaced all my metal fillings and removed some old infected root canal teeth. Silvia his assistant is the best assistant. Lisa in the front office always handles my insurance problems and questions efficiently. I really love this office.

Ever feel like you aren't being heard when you go a doctor or dentist? I feel like sometimes doctors get used to seeing the same stuff every day and stop treating each patient as if they are special. Dr. Senn is not one of those doctors, in fact he goes much further in explaining and exploring options than anyone I have ever seen. Because they focus on holistic and more advanced forms of care, they don't really take insurance but it's worth the cost to have all the options and care they provide.

I Love Dr. Senn, he has done amazing work over the years. I have been forced to move dentists as one member of his staff has gotten worse and worse over the years and I just dread going in there now. So I have moved to another dentist. Staff is important and hopefully they will correct the error.
