I’m a need patient and I have a story to tell.

This may be a bit longer than you may want to read. 😂

My teeth issues began during Covid. I had extreme pain in one of my bottom molars.

I went to a dentist in Petaluma. At the time I thought they were great. They fixed the molar and at the same time grafted one of my front top teeth. That tooth was supposed to be fixed within 3-4 months after the graft.

Time went by and I called about 6 months later. I left numerous messages. Come to find out the practice itself was going through an ownership change.

I ended up making molded teeth so I could have a front tooth.

I bought the molding beads on Amazon. Although they aren’t meant for use for years, I did use them for years.

I’ll admit, they did come in handy and I got really good making teeth with them.

I didn’t use them to replace my teeth, I used them for an easy quick alternative. I’m telling you all this for a reason.

Due to the amount of pain that was happening, it started about 3 weeks ago maybe more and gradually got worse. The pain was coming from my jaw. I had never in my life experienced this pain. It stings and stabs through my jaw down into my chest and up through my ear. It became unbearable.

Had it not been for the pain, I’ll be honest, I most likely wouldn’t have taken the time to find a new dentist.

Lucky, I didn’t have to search long. Caren Leonardi had given me her dentist recommendation some months ago when I had planned to begin the process for my mouth but once again, the pain wasn’t strong enough for me to take the leap.

Unfortunately for me, I’m one of those that didn’t work proactively with teeth health until it came with pain.

Most of my anxiety in all this was the unknown.

We have what the industry infers to great Dental Insurance. We have Delta Dental PPO.

Listen there’s unfortunately no great Dental Insurance. They all have caps on what they cover and what percentage they cover.

Much like if my anxiety came from this as well.

I speak on this because the Dental Insurance Act needs to be reformed.

There’s thousands if not millions of people who live with dental problems they can’t afford to get their teeth fixed. People also go to other countries for dental care. I’ve even researched and considered doing so.

Many long term dental issues turn into horrible medical conditions. I was the point thinking that was me.

I want to take a moment and thank my good friend Caren.

I honestly believe in my heart, I have found the most caring, compassionate and kind Dentist I’ve ever been to in my adult life.

When I say I am/was embarrassed? It’s no lie.
I showed up with 3 missing teeth, extreme jaw pain and showed him in my baggy all of the teeth that had fallen out. My teeth didn’t just fall out, these are teeth that had been previously crown or capped.

Dr. Wayne Sutton in Rohnert Park and his staff truly made me feel like I was a normal person with glistening teeth.😂

Today I will be having the very last wisdom tooth pulled. I didn’t even know it still lived back there. That tooth is what has been causing all the jaw pain.

I have a long expensive road ahead of me, however, I want to have my smile back. I haven’t had a normal smile in almost 5 years.

For any of my local friends, please please do your own research on Dentists before you choose that one dentist that can take you immediately just for a quick fix. IT’S NOT worth it.

I highly recommend Dr. Sutton in Rohnert Park and I’m also going to post this as a review for them.

I had an urgent dental issue after breaking a tooth. They were able to get me in for a consultation the next day and scheduled the repair the same week.
I have dental anxiety and the conscious sedation offered was the perfect solution. They were even able to add in a teeth cleaning for me while I was sedated. I highly recommend this dental office.

Let’s start with telephone conversations when I first made the appointment. They were very courteous and friendly on the phone. I immediately felt that I made the right call. The clinic is very clean, and it doesn't smell like medicine which a lot of patients makes uncomfortable. Staff are even more friendlier in person. They welcomed me with big smile, very reassuring feeling.
DR. SUTTON was open ears about my concerns and goals during my initial visit. He gave me options, and very honest with what kind of interventions are needed. He also offered easy and convenient dental plans with discount if needed. Dr Sutton reminded me of my one and only trusted Dentist. I felt the immediate comfort that I will be in good care.

Great customer service, even with a small window for my cleaning, they squeezed me in and did my exam and cleaning on the same day! The dental hygienist Chantel was very thorough and took her time to get around my permanent retainer on my lower teeth. Everyone was very nice and helpful throughout my visit. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!

For the past 9 years, I had been traveling to my former place of residency for my dental care. My dentist ultimately retired and sold his practice. I wanted to find a dentist closer to my home in Sebastopol. I was referred to Sonoma Smiles and had my first appointment , 9/5/2024.

The office is lovely and inviting. I was instantly impressed with both the front desk and dental staff. I can say unequivocally that I received the most thorough and comprehensive exam I have ever experienced in my 70 years.

I met with Dr. Rice and was immediately impressed with his professionalism and his willingness to spend as much time as needed to answer my questions. Then came the cleaning, which was again extremely thorough. The hygienist took a great deal of time to go over my questions regarding ongoing dental care.

Just a very pleasant experience all around. As happy as I was to find them, they welcomed me into their thriving practice with enthusiasm.

I will certainly be passing my experience onto my friends and family.

Beautiful, clean office. Very friendly staff. I was easily able to get an appointment fir a toothache. Dr Rice was so nice. He explained clearly what my plan will be. I look forward to obtaining all my dental care from Dr Rice and his staff.

2 1/2 years ago I went to Sonoma Smiles with failing teeth and bone loss. I was told at that time that I would need to have some grafting done and I could have six implants, so that I could have permanent teeth.I was given a price quote of $28,000 and I agreed to the work 2 1/2 years later I am having to go to Clear Choice and have the work done correctly. At an additional $20,000. It has been an ungodly nightmare. I ended up with a snap in denture that does not attach to the heads of the implants. Very big, bulky, extremely uncomfortable can only wear it for about four hours a day. It looks very unnatural and not what I asked for and not what I was told I was going to receive. I have asked Dr. Sutton to please refund $20,000 so that I can have the work completed. He has been noncompliant, It saddens me as I chose a small business to do the work instead of going to Clear Choice. Nearly 3 years later still Discomfort and embarrassment. Zero responsibility taken by him or his partner at the time. I would strongly recommend if you are going to have this kind of dental procedure go to a dentist that does only implants and bone grafting. Lesson learned.
