I was recommended Sebastopol Dental Care by word of mouth. My experience was comfortable, educational, and most importantly, pleasant as my oral health is in better condition. Preventative measures is the overall approach here and saving as much enamel (your tooth) is recommended. Listed are the important pros:

1. Same-day ceramic crowns are available! With the latest technology, the dentist designs it in front of your eyes and makes any necessary adjustments on site. It’s about a 45 minute wait time in which you can be educated on how the technology works and take a tour of the making of the crown.
2. Being educated…Take advantage of the information in the rooms (shown in attached photos). This will help encourage engaging in preventative precautions. During my x-rays, I asked many questions in which all were answered and more! Honestly, ask away, it is motivational and great to understand why oral health is important.
3. Thorough cleaning.
4. The staff is warming and welcoming, a “we’ve known you for years” type feel. Parking on site makes the appointment convenient.
5. Appointments are available within a week of calling and the staff will call if there’s a cancellation and they can for a patient in sooner. I called and came the next day for my first visit.
6. The RIGHT type of mouth wash available to purchase on site. I learned from a podcast “Huberman Lab” titled “Oral Health” that many mouth washes have alcohol as an ingredient which is actually opposite of what you need to kill the bacteria and prevent cavities. The OraCare mouth wash has many bacteria killing ingredients including xylitol which is known to starve and kill bacteria.
7. Lastly, I was given steps on how to assist my infant’s upcoming oral health, and left with items to start today!

The only con that may prevent people from coming here is the higher expense, yet, everyone’s insurance situation is different. My financial decision was weighed out as I listed long and short term goals and risks. I realized it was worth the expense. I thought about the documentary “The Root Cause”, and wanted to feel confident in choosing the right dentist. In addition, who wants to worry that their tooth with crack in half while waiting for their crown to be made off-site? Or coming in for additional appointments because the crown needs to be sent back for additional adjustments?

Just like the adage "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail," some dentists just want to get in there and operate. A good dentist sees the operation as the last resort. Rushang immediately wanted to drill my teeth and give me fillings. After the first time, I had pain that lasted over a year. I had to call Larry (who he bought the practice from) to get them to replace the fillings with a different type of material without charging me. Since then, the problem has never gone away. It comes and goes. The kicker is that after a certain point of me going in there complaining of pain in the fillings, they said they would just start charging me. So they've been sending me a bill for over a year. Why would I pay it? He owes me money as far as I'm concerned. I went from neutral to pain for over 3 years now. Now I know not everyone has issues with fillings and it's probably rare to have this kind of ongoing pain. But it bears mention from a review perspective that all the stories are heard. Everyone there is nice, I like them all. No complaints about service, etc. It's just the push for operations over a more wholistic and preventative approach taken by his predecessor which we see across the board in high throughput medicine these days - symptoms of the juxtaposition of economy and medicine (or food, music, you name it) that leads to results like mine more often.

I’ve been going here for years and love it! Everyone is exceedingly nice and caring, and always makes a point to ask about something you mentioned at your last appointment. The whole team from receptionists to dental hygienist to Dr Patel himself do their best to ensure you have a good experience and make you feel welcome. They really are a great local business and I would highly recommend them as your regular dentist.

Can getting a crown be a delightful experience? Probably not delightful, however, if there are any future crowns required for me in the future I will settle in and let Dr Patel and his (here the word is appropriate) delightful team work their magic.

Friendly and welcoming dental practice. Dr. Patel, with his background in engineering, uses cutting edge technology to provide excellent restorative dentistry. What's important to me is that he uses this technology to keep as much of the tooth intact when crowns are needed. At the start of the appt., Dr. Patel reviews the procedure in everyday language, so I feel like I understand why it's needed and what's going to happen. And during the procedure, Dr. Patel explains what he's doing, each step of the way. It's very calming and reassuring. The staff is wonderful too, Jennifer and Heather have been so helpful and accommodating. I'm very happy to have found this dental practice!

Having been a patient of Dr. Ford's for many years I was very concerned when he retired. He did a fantastic job finding a replacement for his practice. It is a pleasure to sing the praises of Dr. Patel and his staff. After suffering a traumatic fall, knocking loose my six front teeth, I was rushed to Dr. Patel. He immediately went into emergency mode and by way of his quick action and expertise the roots of four teeth were saved to have crowns. Treatment went on for over a year. It was a difficult time for me but was definitely made easier to bear by the compassion, commitment and sincere caring of Dr. Patel and Jen. I can't thank Dr. Patel enough for all his hard work to save my teeth. It was a time neither of us will ever forget and we share the happiness of my beautiful new teeth.

Dr Patel and his staff are unfailingly respectful, friendly, and competent. I have had several excellent dentists in my lifetime and i believe Dr Patel is the best of them all.
