I was looking for a dentist when my family first moved to Muscle Shoals in 2022 and came across Dr. Ryerson's profile and his community service, free dentistry service to needed family. I also like my hygienists, Tina and Sara, who are friendly, professional, and never trying to sell me anything. Would highly recommend.

We have been going to Ryerson’s for a few years now - they’ve done regular cleanings, fillings, and other dental work for my family.
My son went in for a routine cleaning on 11/9. I was told he had a cavity but they were watching it and they showed me. It is severe. It was also the first time I had heard about this tooth. I was under the impression the tooth we were watching was a different baby tooth that would “come out sooner rather than later so we aren’t concerned about it.” That didn’t sit right with me so I called back to discuss this with a doctor. A hygienist called me and said they didn’t fill children’s cavities because they weren’t going to traumatize them - I should research a pediatric dentist. This was very off putting to say the least. I felt it was basically a “sorry about it” situation and no more. If I KNEW they didn’t work on children other than cleanings, I never would have taken my son there in the first place, but I was never told or given any type of recommendations elsewhere.
Luckily I was able to get in with a pediatric dentist the day I called. Turns out, the tooth they were “watching” needs a crown and possible root intervention, and a crown on a different tooth that was never mentioned.
Needless to say I will never step foot back into this dentist office.
