Had such a warm caring experience at River Valley Family Dentistry. Everyone in the office was very polite and made you feel comfortable. I've finally found a dental office in the greater Columbus area that wasn't after what your benefits allowed, they care about their patients. Highly recommend.

I had the best experience today at River Valley Family Dentistry! I shared with them my anxiety of seeing a dentist due to a really bad experience several years ago. Each staff member and both doctors made me feel safe, cared for, and heard. I instantly felt comfortable! They had a special way of making you feel like family. My search for a dentist is thankfully over because I have found the best. Thank you River Valley! You all are amazing!

We are new to the area and it was time for my kiddo to get her check up, they got us in as a new patient the same day I called! My kiddo is only 2.5 and wouldn’t let them do much, but they were so kind and patient with her, did what she was willing to let them do and didn’t give up after 5 minutes and just send us on our way. I went ahead and made an apt for myself because they made me feel like I could truly trust them to take care of me and my family! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

I’ve been dealing with two troublesome teeth that I just couldn’t ignore any longer. One of them really started acting up a few days ago, and the pain just kept getting worse. After doing some research and talking to my parents, who have been going to River Valley Family Dentistry (RVFD) for years, I decided to call them on a Friday morning, hoping they’d have a same-day appointment. Luckily, they fit me in just a few hours later!

When I mentioned my serious fear of dentists (dentophobia), the receptionist was incredibly understanding. Upon arrival, the staff greeted me with compassion, warmth and patience. Even though I was 20 minutes early, I was called back almost immediately. The hygienist, Reagan, was super friendly and didn’t make me go through the full x-ray and cleaning routine—she just focused on the problem area.

Once the x-rays were done, Dr. Slade Pirtle came in and was very considerate of my feelings. He presented a few realistic options and encouraged me to take my time deciding, which I really appreciated. I didn’t feel rushed or like just another number. I decided to have the teeth pulled on Monday instead of the same day and was surprised and grateful to get a prescription for pain relief. As I write this, my tooth is already hurting and I can imagine it will only get worse over the weekend. Having pain relief is a blessing!

Typically, I need IV sedation even for a cleaning because my mouth is really sensitive to dental tools, cold water, and suction. But I felt reassured that while there might be some discomfort, Dr. Pirtle wouldn’t let me experience any serious pain. I left feeling hopeful and comfortable about the upcoming procedure—definitely not how I’ve felt after visits to other dentists in the past. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m looking forward to making RVFD my go-to for dental care!

This has probably been the best dentist I have ever went too. They are super friendly and understanding. I had a really bad toothache they were able to get me in within 24hours and pill the tooth . Dr. Pirtle is absolutely amazing if your looking for a dentist that makes you feel seen and heard and like family then this is the best dentist for you

I was very nervous from past experiences. From the moment I walked through the door my experience was great! Katie-Jo was very welcoming and eased my anxiety immediately. Dr. P came in and was very warm and welcoming. They took great care of me!
