⭐ Google Review – Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Emergency Room ⭐
I want to shine a light on Phoebe Putney Memorial’s Emergency Room team. This is the third time I’ve had an experience here since the Trauma Center opened, and each time has been exceptional. Within about four hours, we always know whether we’re being admitted, and there is a constant, organized flow of staff coming in to perform their tasks. Lately, we’ve been admitted within six hours and quickly taken to a room — whether CCU or a regular floor.

RN Justin Still was absolutely amazing. I truly pray his supervisor sees this because he gave my mom the best care. There was also a woman with long curly hair who was an angel — attentive, kind, and compassionate.

I recently had an overnight stay at Phoebe (6th floor) following surgery. Everyone was attentive to my needs and took great care of me. The food was great, too! Everything went smoothly. It couldn't have been better!

I had surgery and recovered on the sixth floor. My surgeon had exceptional bedside manners. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was safe and comfortable, even making me coffee in the wee hours of the morning. They responded to my needs in a timely and efficient manner. I am proud to call Phoebe my hometown hospital!

My mother came into the ER via ambulance. One of the EMT’s was rude. Then there was someone in the ER that came to the waiting room looking for my mom, we had to tell them that she came via ambulance. I will say we had a better experience this go round unlike her trip in 2022. However, we did have to pry information out of them to get any information about her condition(s). We were also told a day before she was discharged that she had the pneumonia or either a collapsed lung. Then we were told she had neither, so we don’t really know if she had the pneumonia or a collapsed lung. She also has severe weakness in her lower extremities and we requested to have in home physical and occupational therapy. That was the last conversation we had with the nurse before she was discharged. The request was never put in. Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as a whole still sucks and is the worst hospital I have ever been to.

This is one of the worst hospitals. We were transferred here from Fort Benning. Today on 10/05/2025, the floor doctor kept cutting my wife off when trying to get information and he would not let her talk; he was rude. So, after my son was done with the procedure, he said he felt everything like they did not give him any anesthesia or numbing medicine. The floor nurse looked up in the system and also could not find anything. This is unacceptable. Nobody knows anything and when we request (multiple times) to speak with whoever is in charge it takes hours for them to show up. Nobody here is a priority. All we do is wait. This hospital doesn't even deserve a 1 star. There are maybe a few nurses who have been amazing and CARING but there are a bunch with no empathy or care.

For such a huge hospital can they not afford to fix some of the lights in the room? Also, seems most of the time since we have been there (this week) the call button did not work. What kind of hospital lets equipment stop working. What if my son was in dire need? We had to keep leaving the room to find someone.

I really can't give the 8th floor head nurse as he call himself. About one or two nurses was nice. But two of them was compulsive liars. I can't forget hearing the head nurse stating I was loud and yelling. He had one of the male nurse put me in a barehug and pulling my hair out. I can't forget it. I can't. They was very nasty. He told the security officer to come downstairs and tell me that I am not to return to this hospital unless I was admitted in. Only God knows I will not go to phoebe for this reason. If I was too be admitted in. I can't! I cannot do it.

I would like to bring to your attention an interaction I had with a nurse on the sixth floor today that I found concerning. When I approached her to ask for a room number—out of consideration for the privacy of patients and their families—I was met with a dismissive attitude. She looked at me with a smug expression and responded in a tone that felt condescending, as if to imply my question was foolish.

As I attempted to clarify my intention, she walked away without acknowledging my request, making me feel invisible in the process. While I understand that my question may have seemed trivial from her perspective, the lack of respect and professionalism in her response was disheartening.

2nd floor labor and delivery all my daughter nurses were heroes! Nurse Keegan you were everything a patient could ask for you would make a great doctor one day, she explained everything you made my daughter feel comfortable and she trusted you.
