Let's just say the experience was not what I expected and labor was 2 days followed with an hour of pushing... But my son was delivered safely and the doctor who was there to help me was absolutely wonderful. I was reassured during the delivery and given the confidence to have my son with the circumstances given. My son was born and monitored before leaving with a clean bill of health for my him and myself. Would I deliver there again ... Not at all.. but that's personal. I'm sure not everyone's experience is the same.

After arriving to SouthLake Hospital I was surrounded by only professional and compassionate staff. My Journey to wellness again was challenging. Doctors, nurses, nurse assistance gave me excellent care. I only have high praise for SouthLake Hospital. Even the cleaning staff, Food service, and Volunteer transport were outstanding.

I’ve been to Orlando Health South Lake Hospital and the ER multiple times, and every experience has been great. I recently delivered my son there, and the labor and delivery team was amazing. As a first-time mom I was very nervous, but the nurses were incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring throughout the whole process. The hospital was very clean and well maintained, which made me feel comfortable during my stay. The postpartum care was also wonderful, and the staff made sure both my baby and I were well taken care of. I’m very grateful for the care we received and would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone looking for great healthcare.

The ER staff was very helpful and welcoming my nurse was Matthew, he was very helpful took care of me and was very caring after I got to my room. The unit was observation the staff there was very helpful and nice. Diana was my nurse. She was very helpful and nice to me. The cafeteria assistant was very nice and pleasant. Just say my stay here was very pleasant and very nice. I always choose South Lake if I have to go to any hospital thank you for all your support

I had a horrible experience at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital on February 27th 2026. I came in with excruciating pain, that was localized at the right lower abdomen. I was given 2 rounds of morphine which helped somewhat, however, that was short lived. I was sent to get a ct-scan and a sonogram, which showed a 5cm, 3cm cyst and soil mass. The pain I was having was not compared to their findings. I couldn’t understand why this pain was so severe. So, I spoke with the female gynecologist which we discussed possibly emergency surgery if the continued. I immediately told her that I wanted to do the emergency surgery because the pain was unbearable.

The nurse wiped me down, changed me into a clean gown and I was transported to the emergency room. However, apparently everyone wasn’t there yet. The black male nurse took my information and was going through all the questions that’s required for surgery. I met the anesthesiologist and the nurse that’s would be in the operating room with me. While waiting in an area for the operation room to become available, I related to the male nurse about the pain I was having. He said that he’s trying to get someone to see me to get me something for the pain until they are ready for my surgery.

One of the anesthesiologist, a white male, who I’ve met prior, came by and put something in my arm that had a line for the IV and all I remembered was waking up in the room where I was admitted. I didn’t get to see the operating room, I didn’t get to see the entire team, I didn’t get to witness the preparation, no oxygen on my nose, nothing to secure around my neck, no counting backwards until I’m out completely. I didn’t have that experience. All I found out about my surgery was that I had a twisted ovary that was bleeding. After getting discharged the next day after surgery, I had excruciating soreness around my entire neck! I don’t know what that anesthesiologist gave me that completely knocked me out, but I felt that my rights were violated and was left with symptoms of not prepping me properly.

My experience was GREAT overall. Very fast and efficient entry staff. The 4th floor Dr's and staff did a great job in attending my situation. A Special shout out to Dr. Milstein for his full and excellent overview of my health standings and was able to clear up information given us from the "brief" Cardiologist's visit, who I was expecting more from.
My nursing staff was super excellent with special thanks to Brittani, Bryan, Sharon and Michaela. Michaela was great in helping to get my transcripts and such transfered to the Veterans Office.
Overall, I am really appreciative and highly complementary to the care given me by the Orlando Health /South Lake Hospital.

I was admitted after showing up at the ER for several serious issues that were truly emergent. I would give all of the nursing staff from the ER to the unit nurses that took care of me, five stars. They were efficient, kind, calm and empathetic to me and my family. I was in the hospital for nearly a week, going home 2 days later and then having to return the next day. My biggest issue and disappointment however, was the doctor who did my surgery. We met with one doctor before the surgery and felt comfortable with him, but the next day just before the procedure my family was told a different doctor would be performing the surgery. I was told as I was being prepped. I never saw his face because I was turned on my stomach for the surgery. He never came out into the waiting area to speak with my family before or after. They waited for him to come out after and let them know how things went and to give them an opportunity to ask questions. He never showed. I was discharged 2 days later and he never called or came by my room, even after nurses called his service to request a call or visit. That was very disappointing and impersonal. The other issue we had was that I was discharged without any support equipment like a walker. The excuse was that it was the weekend and the floor doctor didn’t order it. We requested a couple of things from the 3 different case workers we saw, but there were no notes made according to the nurses. Several people dropped the ball. I’ve been home 4 days and still don’t have it. Kudos also go to the other support people like the dietary staff, the cleaning crew, and the nursing assistants. They were so nice and always introduced themselves, being helpful and thorough.

Superb experience!
The entire staff for room 3606 was better than staying at a great hotel. Here are the attributes: friendly, caring, timely service, efficient, compassionate & professional. Wonderful people who deserve praise for all that they do for patients. It would be extremely difficult to single out one employee so I praise the entire staff. Thank you for your effort !
