I went in for an exam and was scheduled for a deep cleaning, extraction or root canal, and maybe some fillings. Without insurance I was looking at a cost between 2-5 grand? Depending on whether I’d do root canal or extraction.
I ended up fishing around for a quote on the deep cleaning and got a place that would save me $400. I had to re-do the exam and they started the deep cleaning treatment today. It was ok. But since this is my first serious dental work in years, after the 1st part of the deep cleaning today, I am thoroughly convinced Dr. T and his assistant would’ve been worth the additional $400. The exam was more thorough and much less aggressive so I imagine the tools at Moraga Dental as well as the assistants are just better than where I went. I didn’t feel so much during the initial exam here at Moraga Dental and my teeth felt fresh, and I had a fluoride treatment done as well afterwards. I feel stuck at the other place because I’ve already gotten started, but I would highly recommend Moraga Dental! For out of pocket folks; It cost $459 for a thorough exam & cleaning and fluoride treatment but after a second opinion and dental work elsewhere; it’s well worth it here!

This office is probably my favorite that I’ve been in so far. From the cleanliness and gorgeous office space to the employees that makes this place very special. I was greeted by AmayaJade who assisted me by being patient, courteous and very helpful as I was a new patient and also amazing to talk too. Then I was brought over to Carol who was sweet to talk to and gentle but very thorough in my cleaning and gave me great tips for maintaining a great oral hygiene! I was super happy with my experience here and will recommend to anyone who is looking for a new dental office!

Dr. Tavallei is the best dentist! His office is very clean and organized. I love how great he is at dealing with a dental phobic patient (me!). He has done everything for me from crowns to fillings to helping me through the process of a dental implant. All of his work is top notch. Our whole family sees him and is very happy with him.

Walking into Moraga Dental Care this morning for my long overdue teeth cleaning, Dr. Tavallei's recent investment in safety was obvious everywhere. A new normal.

One of the first things I canceled at the start of the pandemic was my dentist appointment. In the 14 months I avoided rescheduling, Dr. T had moved into custom-built high-tech offices with hospital-grade ventilation, larger treatment rooms, new equipment, and new protocols.

For me, that included adding my CDC vaccination card to my patient file.

A new normal with one important thing unchanged: Care was just as wonderfully kind and thorough as always.

My insurance card and a heart-felt thank-you? It just doesn't seem enough.

Dr. Tavallei and his staff are fabulous. Dr. Tavallei knows his stuff, he is also an assistant professor at the UCSF Dental School. He is gentle, super friendly and his office is very clean. The staff are just as friendly as he is. My entire family trusts their dental care to Dr. Tavallei.
