I do no recommend Dr. Sands as I had a horrible experience with her. I went to her in a vulnerable and desperate place as my front center veneer fell out and she had agreed to bond it in as I was leaving the country the following week. We agreed on a price and when I arrived she changed her price and her plan. She ended up prepping my top 6 teeth for all new veneers. What was supposed to cost $1,000.00 ended up costing me close to $24,000.00. After she prepped my teeth and put temporaries on she told me I had to cancel my trip. I went but was scared to eat as Dr. Sands said that the temporaries can pop out easily. Before leaving I had a gum infection from the temporaries and she refused to see me. It was a Saturday, the day I was leaving town, and she told me to come in on Monday and not go on my trip if I wanted her to fix the infection.
I knew I did not want to continue with her as she lacked any integrity and was clearly not doing what was in my best interest. Upon my return, I asked her to return any unused portion of my deposit which was approximately $10,000.00. By law she had to but she refused saying that she considers the money spent the moment it is received. She had not sent my case to the lab to start the veneers and all she had done was spend a few hours prepping. Things continued to get worse with many other issues and when she finally finished my veneers they were nothing like the temporaries. The canines were too far in causing me to bite tooth on tooth and bite my cheeks. In addition I could not chew normally the way humans chew in a grinding motion. Her response was, "Change how you chew, just go up and down". The front four veneers have a large overbite, worse than before I had braces. This overbite came with a handful of issues including sitting along my bottom lip sealing the airway and making it difficult to breath out of my mouth. I am a mouth breather so this has been terribly disturbing and is not sustainable. She also grinded down a lot of my other teeth for no reason and chipped one which now needs a crown. She reduced my top 8 teeth to nubs so the veneers are actually 3/4 crowns. I asked her to redo them so I could chew and breath normally or to refund me so I could have them redone elsewhere. She refused both options. Dr. Jamie Sands did not behave professionally, ethically or with integrity. I do not recommend Dr. Jamie Sands for anyone's dental needs.
