I grew up in IB way back when the fantastic Dr. Clifford Yudelman was my dentist at 5 years old! Yup! Back in the 80s! He was the best dentist around, not just because he had a treasure chest full of toys or rolls and rolls of unique stickers to choose from! He treated my single mom and I with respect and took care of military families looking for a dentist when they got stationed in San Diego! I remember one time, one of his hygienists was saying racist things under her breath while she was cleaning my teeth, and we told Dr. Yudelman and he made sure she never stepped foot in the family dentistry office again. He treated his patients like family and we felt very cared for. Many years later, he decided to move back to his hometown in Capetown, South Africa and you know who he chose to take over is practice here in IB? DR. LUO! Dr. Luo continues Dr. Yudelman’s legacy as a fantastic dentist for kids, teens, adults and seniors! IB Family Dentistry has welcoming receptionists that are professional and treat patients with respect. Other reviewers talked about how one of the receptionists, Stephanie, was so warm and welcoming! She has a distinct friendly voice that would remind you over the phone of your upcoming appointment and you’d know that voice when she welcomed you to the office! Stephanie has since retired (thank you for all the amazing passion!) and Yvette is there continuing the legacy of warmth and welcome! In addition, the dental hygienists here are OUTSTANDING - they make you feel comfortable (especially me bc I sometimes get anxiety) so if you’re lucky to book CAROL or Mrs. G. then your teeth are in for a squeaky clean treat! Dr. Luo truly studies your teeth and makes great recommendations! He and my Periodontist, Dr. Ozaki, work together with my teeth and gums! And I am so grateful for the recommendation from Dr. Luo! So, if you’re military or not, you’ll find a new family at Imperial Beach Dentistry like I have for over 30 years!
