First let me say the staff and doctor are extremely kind and professional. My cleaning was amazing and I felt that I was in great hands. I love that they’re a holistic space, and the examination I received was very thorough.

The only con I experienced was being told insurance would cover my expenses by whomever I spoke with on the phone, and was left with a bill for $800. I understand dental insurance is not great in the US - but I expected the staff to at least check and inform me beforehand. I loved this place and was excited to even start my invisilign journey, but I can’t pay out of pocket for these services.

If you have insurance coverage, just check with your provider in detail before trusting the office you’re visiting is all! Otherwise great staff and amazing place. Just not transparent on pricing.

Wow! This was my first dental visit with Dr. Monempour and I left feeling happy and ready to come back for my next appointment. I was looking for a holistic dentist around me and am so grateful I found him. He went above and beyond my expectations with his service. All the staff members were so nice and patient as well.
This was the most thorough appointment I have ever been through... he was so patient and explains everything. All his equipment was clean and also amazing! I will recommend him to anyone who is looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and overall great dentist! Thank you for all your time and care!

Dr Monempour is a great dentist. My most pleasant experience so far has been when he was able to do a filling I needed without the need for anaesthetic (I’m petrified of needles). Very capable.

I decided to try Holistic Smiles LA after reading the amazing reviews and after speaking with Dr. Monempour's office assistant, Shanna, who was extremely personable and patient with my questions. The dental office did not disappoint! This was the first time that a dentist has spent more than 5-10 minutes introducing himself, completing a dental exam, and discussing treatment options. Dr. Monempour took the time to listen to my concerns, completed a full exam of my mouth (this was the most comprehensive exam I have ever experienced), did my teeth cleaning, and provided a treatment for my gums. He tried to get to the root cause of teeth/gum-related concerns, and gave me actionable recommendations to be completed at home, between dental appointments. He sets an excellent standard for patient care.

I am extremely happy with Dr. Monempour. Beyond being courteous, professional, and informative, he is also highly effective at his job. He extracted three of my teeth, performed a thorough cleaning, and my mouth has not felt better in years. In addition, I have been to numerous other dentists, and while many of them may call themselves holistic, I know for a fact that Dr. Monempour is the real deal. He is constantly up to date on the latest holistic technology, so rest assured that any dental work he does on you will be healthy and use no harmful chemicals. I could not ask for a better dentist!

Best dental visit I ever had! This was a 2nd opinion visit. The first dentist recommended unnecessary work, and Dr Monempour took time to go over my x-rays and explained why I didn't need to have work on my tooth. Very honest and extremely knowledgeable. This office will be my go to for myself and anyone I know!!

My experience with Holistic Smiles LA was spoiled by both hypocrisy and unprofessionalism by the owners Jason Monempour, DDS and his wife Shanna.

As a new patient, I booked my first appointment for treatment with the dentist.   Shanna was sure to tell me that they have a "strict" 48-hour cancellation policy and a fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled inside of that window.  After my first treatment appointment,  I was given a follow-up appointment for two weeks after lab work was returned to the office.  When I got to my second appointment on a Wednesday morning before 8, Dr. Monempour told me that the item from the lab was not delivered to the office.  I told him I would have appreciated someone calling me from his office to reschedule the day before (yes just 1 day before would have sufficed, not two because I would not have held them to the same super-human standards of 48-hour's notice).   He said "I would be frustrated too."   He offered to give me a discount.  At first, I thought the offer meant he was going to show some professionalism and clean up the messy situation but I quickly found out it was just a case of 'sorry, not sorry.'   I told him that he could apply the discount to the treatment I was currently having done.  He said no because the price was already set.  The so-called set price did not stop him from adding an on-the-spot charge while he was treating me, which I paid.  To be flexible, I told him he had the option of putting the discount on the next treatment I had planned with him.  He told me he didn't want to put it on the second treatment either because his advisers told him not to put discounts on treatments.  He also said he wasn't informed that the item was not back from the lab, as if he can separate himself from the rest of his team in the office.  Now I was starting to get frustrated because I was listening to the dentist spout off excuse after excuse rather than respectfully showing me he was apologetic for wasting my time.   Dr. Monempour then said he could give me a free laser treatment.   I told him the proposed discount has to be on something we are currently working on or planning, not on some ancillary services I have never had in his office or haven't agreed to since I am a new patient .  He then offered to blow puffs of air onto my teeth for free with ozone, something I told him two weeks prior I was not interested in.  I also said that I am a new patient and it should be important for him to establish trust with me and the responses he was giving me were having the opposite effect.  I told him putting the discount on the things we are working on and that I have agreed to is the only right thing to do.  I reminded him that I was early for all of my appointments with him and he needed to show that he respects my time as well.  Then he deflected again by saying his wife Shanna would be the one to decide.  Shanna works from home and he did not pick up the phone to contact her while I was standing there waiting for the botched appointment to be resolved.  He said she would get in touch with me that afternoon.  The last thing he said about the outcome of having the discount put on the current or next planned treatment was  "don't hold your breath."  He was talking to me as if he was doing me a favor.  I left the office feeling like this dentist has no idea how to foster a new patient relationship and the hypocritical way he was responding to me about their failure to notify me before I showed up unnecessarily for an appointment when he wants patients to value his time and income with his "strict" 48-hour cancellation notice, is unacceptable and does not show that he values and respects his patients' time and resources.

Shanna finally contacted me two days later on a Friday. In her email she repeated the same discount her husband offered me: unwanted puffs of gas for free. I replied back to her email about the only right place for the discount to go which would be on my current or planned treatments with Dr. Jason Monempour, but she never responded.

Sorry, not sorry indeed.

I first encountered Dr. Monempour and his practice, Holistic Smile LA, through a friend who had meticulously researched various practitioners before settling on this clinic for his oral surgery. Given my line of work in the fashion and entertainment sector, I admit I was initially skeptical. However, intrigued enough to seek a second opinion for my treatment, I scheduled an appointment.

The welcoming voice that greeted me over the phone belonged to none other than Shanna, Dr. Monempour's wife. She graciously presented several scheduling options before confirming my consultation.

What distinguishes Dr. Monempour is his holistic approach to patient care. He offers straightforward, financially savvy advice in an industry that often prioritizes profit over patient well-being. His honest guidance stands in stark contrast to a field commonly driven by up-selling unnecessary treatments for the sake of financial gain.

My visit with him provided the insight I needed to move forward with treatment. Not only did he repair my tooth, but he also personally cleaned my teeth. I enjoyed our conversation, valued his advice, and left the clinic with a restored smile.
