I couldn't get a slot in at my local hospital to have a kidney stone lasered, so my Dr suggested that we go to Lake Monroe Hospital for the procedure. Lake Monroe is different than what I am used to, a smaller feel but very friendly like you live down the street. I was very impressed with the staff. They all seem to like their jobs and the hospital which is great for me the patient. The equipment and surgical rooms look neat and tidy and modern. I felt comfortable there and had a good experience.
Definitely a longer drive for me but the staff experience made me feel right at home. Thanks for the good work to the Florida Lake Monroe Hospital staff!!

A bit of a mixed bag. The last thing you want to see when you arrive at a hospital is overgrown grass, weeds, trash in the parking lots, neglect and disrepair at a seriously aged and neglected facility. But such was the case.

Not everything is about looks though. My first impression was poor.

The registration area was minimally staffed, waits were long and I’d question if anyone sanitizes anything in the lobby. It just didn’t feel
Like a well staffed or efficient facility out of the gate.

As for care - once you’re in the facility for care it seems fine. Honestly, equipment and aesthetic, I’d expect in the poorest parts of the country or overseas - but staff was kind and attentive. Waits were not unreasonable and care seemed competent.

Maybe I’ve just been to some really nice, modern hospitals that have been unusually well ordered - but this was surprisingly behind the times and made VA appointments feel futuristic and luxurious.

Not ungrateful for any community hospital - but this one felt like it’s kinda “hangin on”. It seems well past its functional usability and the facility limitations have to present many challenges.

Sorry for the bad review - but this facility needs some big help soon and I think I would have desperately searched out other options if medical needs were significant.

From admission to discharge my experience was First rate all the way. Everyone was kind and friendly, introduced themselves by name and we're very clear about what their purpose was related to my knee replacement surgery. In recover I was extremely well attended and advised of everything as it was happening. I liked it so much that I will be doing it again in a few months on the other side... Thank you to all the staff of Florida hospital HCA Lake Monroe!!!!! I'll be seeing you soon...

My experience was not good. The nurses were not good at all. Except , Kiki and my third night nurse. They were doing an excellent job. The care team members were standing outside my door just talking and not even coming to see if I needed anything. I had to push the button so they could and dump my urinal ask for water and ice. Sometimes I didn’t even see them for 4 to 5 hours. Also I was confused that Dr. Knee informed me on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that I could go home, then around 4 or 5 o’clock. Someone comes in and said that I would have to stay another night. But would not explain to me why until Thursday night that my knee and leg was red and infected. So I informed them that could go home and have the healthcare nurse check it and get my prescriptions.

My mother had to undergo a stomach surgery due to multiple reasons. After surgery she was in ICU. She had the best nurse - Natalie. At first I was unsure about her but after watching her interact w my mother I knew she was truly meant to help people. She was so selfless, she helped us as much as she could and even wrote on her board to make her birthday special. I’m so grateful she was there to care for her & won’t ever forget her. My mother unfortunately passed away but I know she made her days so comforting.

My experience was great, not that having surgery is fun, but all whom attended me and prepared me for surgery were incredible. I felt like with family they told me everything that was going to happen and were very insistent in keeping me comfortable and in good spirits. Liz my nurse was sweet and patient with me during the whole process. Have to mention the group of anesthesiologist all are great people. Always making sure that I knew what was going to happened. Dr Diaz has always so professional and making me feel comfortable. This is not a easy decision to undergo surgery but knowing I was being well taken care of, gave me peace of mind. Thank you guys.

My child had to be rushed to this ER due to a head injury. My child has autism and their anxiety with doctors shot up to the roof but not at this visit! My child was very lucky to see Dr. Ghani. He was wonderful and made sure they remained calm. They were so wonderful to my child. We are very grateful for the staff at this ER. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion towards kids with special needs. We’ll bring our children back to this ER if anything happens to them.

Avoid this “ hospital “ at all costs. Despite being diagnosed with double pneumonia, I was not permitted to go anywhere except for the bathroom. The bathroom itself is not even ADA approved, so because I was a fall risk, I was not permitted to take a shower because the shower was fitted inside a high wall bathtub. The food was atrocious, and even served cold. The case manager was completely unavailable, and the two times I did see her, she was of no assistance. There seemed to be a war of wills amongst the doctors, who seemingly couldn’t agree on a treatment plan. I will drive myself to a different hospital, should the need ever arise. I was not given an option from the EMTs as to which hospital I would be transported to. The only reason I gave them a 2 rating is because I did manage to survive in spite of them.
