Update: Retreatment Successfully Completed!
My experience with the entire staff was amazing! My primary-care dentist warned me that the retreatment (redoing a root canal) may not be possible due to its "advance" stage and that my tooth may have to be pulled, I was also told by my primary dentist that I may need a total 3 root canals but needed an expert to confirm this. Dr. Gearing's wife, Nicole, got me into a consultation almost immediately (thank you, Nicole!) when I called and told them this. They have state-of-the-are equipment and it showed that I only needed one root canal. They were very honest, and I am so grateful for that. Dr. Haugen, who had performed an amazing job on a prior root canal (on another tooth) assured me that this retreatment would most likely be successful. He spent almost 2 hours on my retreatment, always checking in with me, explaining everything along the way, and very patient with my concerns. He promptly followed up with my after-care, as well as Penny and Gretchen. The most important thing I experienced was the generosity and honesty of this clinic. Dr. Haugen didn't "sugar-coat" the fact that there was a possibility that the retreatment might not take, but instead he gave clear reasons and facts for me to make my own decision. He also spent extra time analyzing the other 2 teeth and assured me that they absolutely did not need root canals. For this reason alone, I highly recommend this office: they are extremely honest. The treatment was very affordable and I thank everyone at this office! I highly recommend Dr. Gearing Endodontics to anyone who may need their wonderful care.

I went to Dr. Gearing's office 2 years ago. I gave it a 5 star review back then, but apparently it never posted, and I just noticed this today. It is now 2024, and I just returned from Dr. Gearing's office. I have tooth pain. I was told by a local dentist that I may need three root canals, and for certain one that may be difficult. The front staff were extremely quick in getting me into a consultation with Dr. Haugen. (Dr. Haugen works with Dr. Gearing and Dr. Haugen did an amazing job on my prior root canal 2 years ago). The office is simply beautiful, with views of oak trees and a large-screen video explaining what root canals are and all the options that you have. The front staff ladies were very kind and helpful! Dr. Haugen had done an amazing job last time. He is a very thorough dentist who explained everything clearly, was patient with my concerns, and responded very quickly to my after-care needs during my 2022 visit. Once again, he did a very detailed exam with an advanced machine that scans the entire tooth in 3-D and it was determined that I clearly don't need root canals in 2 of 3 of the teeth. He explained that he can perform a root canal on the third tooth and most likely save it. (It is an advanced case and I was told by other dentist that it may not be able to be saved.) I cannot tell you how appreciative I am of the honesty of this appointment as well as how supportive the entire staff has been.
I feel like I am in very good hands with Dr. Haugen and Dr. Gearing's office!

So uncommon for me to have a dental emergency. But there I was on Friday with a whopper. I called Dr. Gearing's office and spoke with his wonderful office staff. They got me in on Monday, and Dr.Gearing had my emergency resolved in 2 hours. He and his staff were/are professional, caring, and helpful. I was informed of each step in the process and treated with respect. I cannot express how grateful I am for the treatment and am so happy to have him/them in our community.

Dr. Gearing his self, and the girl that assisted him yesterday were both great! I was a nervous wreck and they made me feel comfortable. He is very thorough and explains what he’s doing as he does it. HOWEVER! First impressions can make or break any business. The front staff at the check in window did not make me feel very welcomed. It’s not that they were rude…but they were not friendly either. The waiting room atmosphere made me nervous. And the lack of friendliness by the receptionist’s made it worse. So I give it 3 stars. But I give Dr. Gearing 5 stars.

Never had a better dentist in my 88 years in many countries in the world. In Singapore after WW II a dentist drill was activated by him pushing a pedal. This to tell you that I have had a lot of dental work done. Dr. Gearing has done two root canals for me and both were absolutely painless. During, but also AFTER his treatment. His explanations are very clear. Longtime staff is capable and very helpful. I could not be a happier patient!

Over one year ago I had the displeasure of having a tooth fail. I was working out of town and called my dentist for an emergency appointment. I was informed he was too busy. Having used Dr. Gearing for a Root Canal before I called his number and his service relayed my message. He called me from home and worked me in the next day. He put me on the right path for a complete implant. He did not receive any compensation for helping me. Thank you Dr. Gearing! Cheers.

Dr. Gearing is a great dentist! Awesome customer service from office staff and assistants. My treatment was painless and I was appointed very rapidly! Toothache is gone. I highly recommend this office if you need a root canal.

ROOT CANAL!!!!!. Those words strike fear into most dental patients. Visions of "Little Shop of Horrors" with Steve Martin.
I was referred by my regular dentist (Dr Scherer) for an emergency root canal. I was given an appointment for 3 days later. I was called in on the same day, when a spot opened up. Thankful for that, my mouth was really hurting.
Dr Gearing's office was very professional. Dr Gearing explained the whole process. I could tell that his lead nurse had been with him for a long time. They worked together seamlessly.
It was completely painless. I was in and out in 1 hour 15 minutes. Thanks to the whole staff and especially Dr Gearing.
