Today. November 3 2025 I had several different things I needed to do. I had to go to the lab, pickup medication and see my primary care Doctor. Dr Vetor. I recently had knee surgery and the wheelchairs don't have legs which rise. After waiting at the Lab for an hour my leg was in great pain. I went to scan for my medication. I went to the Internal medicine clinic and ask if there was somewhere I could lay down and elevate my leg and get an ice pack for my knee. I was about 2 hours early for my appointment. Wendy on oof the nurses set me up in a room. Helped elevate my leg and got an ice pack. This was definitely above and beyond her job. She made sure I was comfortable and checked on me frequently to ensure I was feeling better. I was so very thankful for her kind care. I was able to control my pain and was able to keep my appointment. If I was her supervisor I would write a letter of Appreciation and present it in front of the whole clinic. I have always had the best care at this clinic. Thank you and continue the great work.

Being a military spouse since 1990 and receiving medical care and being hospitalized at numerous hospitals along the east coast and overseas.
I can honestly say that my experience at Evans has been the nightmare.
I have seen so many specialists and continue to be dismissed without a clear diagnosis.
I have asked for a referral to a doctor in the tricare east region because they are not resolving the issue here.
I later learned my request never left the hospital for tricare to make this decision of whether they'd approve it or not.
I even met with the colonel to discuss this as he was the 1 who was not forwarding them to tricare.
I was told they want me to get the best patient care within the network and they would get me seen by the correct doctors and follow-up with my care.
Lol... this was April 4th 2025.
It is now, September 26th and not a phone call or anything from this Colonel.
I generally don't go to higher authority but I would love to go higher.
This is my health we are talking about.
And it is not being resolved.

The pharmacy changes policy but does not notify you and expect you to mind read the changes. Got chewed out over bring my dad's meds to be refilled doing it the same way we been doing it last 2 years. Lady tells me they have never done refills same day which I told they have been. Way to take care of an elderly veteran. She told me been there five years and they never let us show up drop off and get same day. Total lie. We been doing this. Never told ANY different. I just heard another worker not being very helpful to an elderly gentleman. Your system needs to be more elderly friendly. Half of these elderly vets cannot figure out the online calling system or come in here by themselves and get minimal help when they need more help.Obviously navigating your system.Be it online or in person, they need more clear information, perhaps even handouts.So they could take it home and show people.

Found out whoever reviewed my X-rays lied about me not having back issues. I got out and the VA took X-rays of my back and found facet arthrosis and disc narrowing in my L5-S1. Got a copy of my X-rays from radiology at EACH from 2 years prior, had them re-reviewed, and found the same thing. While the report stated my back was negative for any issues.... I appreciate the improvement of medical care with the VA compared to EACH.

They also left me with a 104.8 fever for 5 hours on a separate occasion while they waited for my urine analysis to come back because they thought I was on drugs and refused to treat me until they got the results. They took my forehead and mouth temperature multiple times and couldn't believe that it was so high and threatened an internal temperature check (rectal). The CPT that came in to let me know the nurses wanted to do that, thankfully "couldn't find" any covers for the thermometer. I had to beg for something to help my fever and a medic took my boots off for me and gave me chemical ice packs that were warm after 15min of use. Finally they just gave me penicillin which broke my fever after 15min. Then they lied in my records about my fever only being 102.3 and refused to change it. Patient Advocate was no help. I'd hate to have a serious medical condition and have to rely on these quacks who lack any concern or empathy for their patients for treatment. They should not be practicing medicine and do not belong in the military. This was the Warrior Clinic leadership/nurse staffing from 2023-2025. I'm so thankful the Rocky Mountain VAMC has staff who care and put effort into resolving patients injuries and illnesses.

Our visit lasted over six hours, during which my husband was seeking evaluation for serious symptoms. Unfortunately, after the lengthy wait and evaluation, he was discharged without any diagnosis or explanation of what might be wrong. The only recommendation he was given was to take Tylenol and Motrin.

We left the ER with no clarity, no treatment plan, and continued uncertainty about his condition. This lack of communication and direction was both frustrating and disappointing, especially given the time invested and the urgency of his concerns when we arrived.

My PCM dismissed my concerns. The OB clinic wouldn’t see me before my hcg levels hit 3500. Everyone kept telling me how everything was going perfectly and to just wait. Waited and waited, they finally saw me and it was too late. I had to have emergency surgery right away as I was already bleeding out inside my abdomen and my baby had a heartbeat. No abdominal pain like they expected me to have. They are incompetent and just pray nothing is wrong with you because they would just let you hemorrhage before they do anything about it. I am still scarred (literally and mentally) after this experience happened 3 years ago. I lost trust in all medical personnel as every single one of them failed me. Nurses, PCMs and OBs. The name of the PCM’s incompetent RN is John Crisp. The name of the incompetent OB nurse is Jennifer (I was in telephone contact with her, so I don’t remember her last name). And the name of the incompetent OB is Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel was amazing at performing the surgery since everything went well, but incompetent at diagnosing the problem before it turned into an emergency surgery. If only they saw me 7 days prior, there wouldn’t have been a need for a surgery.

Its a shame we are where we are with this place. Dont bother using a number any desk has given you from any of the clinics. You're better off calling the access to care hotline and making an appointment 90 days out for a 2 minute conversation. Why have numbers to any of the care sites if no one answers and all the mailboxes are full.

Overall, I’ve had pretty good luck here, just be aware that manning shortages impact them just like everywhere else. Everyone seems to really try to do their best to help you and mean well. I’ve had a few specialty appointments, a procedure, as well as have gone to the ER a few times as well. It’s been clean every time I’ve been there. Not always super fast service but that’s military healthcare for you. You need to stay on top of them at times to call you back or do whatever followup action items are needed.
I’ll agree with others that the pharmacy is ridiculously slow. So I fill my prescriptions elsewhere if I can.
