I had a very disappointing experience at Tony Lebar’s Dental Office. Before my first visit, I called to inquire about their services, and surprisingly, Dr. Tony Lebar himself answered. He confidently spoke about the quality of care at his office and how patients come from far away for treatment, which made me look forward to my initial exam and cleaning.

Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations.

1. X-Rays:
The x-rays were taken by the front desk person and another older lady—neither introduced themselves, so I still don’t know their names or roles. Both appeared unfamiliar with the x-ray equipment, which made the process unnecessarily long and uncomfortable.

2. No Communication or Introduction from the Dentist:
A female dentist conducted the exam, but she never introduced herself. I assumed I’d be seeing Dr. Tony Lebar, as the office never informed me otherwise. As a patient, I would expect the courtesy of knowing who is treating me.

3. Rushed Exam and Lack of Information:
The exam felt rushed. I mentioned that a previous dentist had recommended a crown for a leaky inlay. The female dentist agreed but failed to explain why or discuss material options. Additionally, I have sensitivity in another crowned tooth, which she barely addressed, providing no real solution.

4. Subpar Cleaning:
The cleaning was unlike any professional cleaning I’ve ever had. The dentist used a scraper with minimal water and completely skipped flossing—something I’ve always known to be standard in professional dental cleanings.

After the rushed cleaning, I had to ask the dentist for her name, which speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and patient care in this office.

5. Poor Follow-Up and Billing Issues:
Following the visit, I emailed the office detailing my concerns and requested that they hold off on billing my insurance, as I felt the services were not properly performed. After three weeks with no response, I had to call the office myself. Dr. Tony Lebar admitted that they had read my email but went ahead and billed the insurance anyway.

When I raised the issue of the skipped flossing, Dr. Lebar said he spoke to the treating dentist, who claimed she “couldn’t remember” if she had flossed my teeth. I found this response both dishonest and alarming. How can a medical professional not remember whether a basic procedure was performed?

Dr. Tony Lebar offered no apology and stated that, since he wasn’t the treating dentist, he couldn’t provide much input. As the owner of the practice, it is his responsibility to ensure that all dentists under his care follow proper procedures. His unwillingness to take accountability was shocking and deeply disappointing.

Bottom Line:
The lack of professionalism, communication, and quality care at this office is unacceptable. I expected better and would not recommend this practice to others.
