I went to Dr. Barrera my entire childhood and into my 20s. I never understood why other kids disliked the dentist because I always loved going to his wonderful office! He took great care of my siblings and I and his hygienists are amazing and always remembered us. Even when having dental work done I never felt stressed and there were always stuffed animals, movies, and bright colors to comfort me. He even came to visit my school in first grade! He really cares about kids and is so sweet and funny. Worst part of growing up was having the reality shock of going to an adult dentist!!

I took my 3-year-old autistic son here and it was such a traumatizing experience. At the first visit, it was suggested that we do "desensitization" visits every 3 months to get his used to going. During both of the subsequent visits, Dr. B shoved his hands in my son's mouth without prompting or warning. Each "visit" lasted 5 minutes and my son was screaming the whole time. His boundaries were not respected and it was not desensitizing him but rather making him more scared of the dentist. Upon trying to communicate my issues from the visit with the Dr, he told me "that's how it is done. If you don't like it, you are welcome to go somewhere else" So I went somewhere else. Within in seconds at the new dentist, she informed me that my son he a few cavities in in front teeth that Dr. B clearly missed. Not only was it a terrible experience with Dr. B, but he missed very obvious cavities.

Dr. B was amazing with my 4 year old autistic kiddo. He knew exactly how to engage him, and did not push him beyond his comfort levels. He gave me valuable suggestions on how to desensitize him over a period of time to be able to actually get him to do a dental cleaning successfully. I was apprehensive when I went in but came out feeling reassured and positive about future dental visits. Thank you Dr. B, can't wait to be back!

Dr. Barrera and his entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. I switched my 3-year old daughter from our previous dentist to this pediatric office for a more enjoyable visit, and I was not disappointed. Both my husband and I were able to sit with her and loved being part of the experience. The staff spoke gently and encouraged my daughter with each step of the checkup/routine cleaning process. The first question they asked her, would she prefer a dog or a butterfly balloon animal? She was comfortable right away and enjoyed making her own decisions like picking the paste flavor. Baby Shark on the overhead monitor was a great distraction to keep her lying still during the actual cleaning. The staff was all very knowledgable on a kid-friendly approach. The physical office is clean, colorful, and cute, from the fish tank to the ceiling fixtures to the stuffed animal cushions - my daughter (and her baby sister) enjoyed the atmosphere. The after-appointment toy selection had a good variety as well. Dr. Barrera reassured us his availability in an emergency situation and that was comforting for us parents with very active children. I appreciated all the feedback for helping our daughter brush most effectively at home and look forward to her future appointments. I also look forward to introducing our second daughter to Dr. Barrera’s office as a new patient after her first birthday. Look no further for a fun pediatric dentist!!

All of the staff at Dr B’s are always so warm and friendly. My 3 year old was nervous to go for a cleaning, but once we arrived, she was instantly at ease. The dental assistant that worked with us was so calm and helped my daughter understand what they were doing each step of the way. Overall, Dr B and his staff are a top notch office and have taken every measure possible to help me feel safe bringing my child in during COVID-19.

Dr Barrera and all staff was very friendly, polite and professional. As my daughter never went to dentist before and she is a sensitive girl, I worried a bit to take her a dentist. But from start to finish we received excellent service and she enjoyed her experience very much. Everyone always made sure if she was comfortable during her treatment and Dr Barrera - our hero was very helpful and made her feel at ease as well as ours! She received a new toothbrush, floss, toy and balloon! Thank you very much for such a superb service!!

We absolutely adore the doctor and everyone on the team. They’re very experienced and super nice and patient, my daughter has been coming for years, and I think she likes it here more than I do. They’re very professional, good with kids, and always explain everything in great details. On top of that, they have a super cute fish tank in the lobby, so my daughter always remembers her dentist day as aquarium day!
