They canceled my cleaning appointment right there when I was already in the chair due to a lack of specialist availability. I was promised I would be rescheduled for next month, but nobody called me. Now, they have offered me a time in three months.

Dust is everywhere around the dental chair; there is no rinse sink; everything looks shabby and not properly sanitized.

I had thought I had found right dental office and oral surgeon to remove my son’s wisdom teeth. I read many reviews most happy with staff and happy customers.
When we got there my son went into room with 4 assistants that were getting him prepared for surgery. My son was very nervous and as they were preparing him for surgery, heart monitor on him, needle in his arm etc, no one ever explained what they were doing. My son said all they were talking about was their holiday party.
Dr Vo removed all 4 wisdom teeth and apparently nicked my son’s cheek which we were never told. My son after the 2nd day of healing found stitches in his cheek.
Nothing was said to us after surgery by assistant or doctor. Very unprofessional. Monday I called office and explained the situation and they apologized for not telling us and said apparently the assistant was supposed to tell us, but failed to.
They explained to us that the stitches will dissolve in 7-10 days.
The healing process has been horrible. Lots of swelling and bruising. My whole family has had our wisdom teeth pulled and none of us had any of these issues.
So, if your thinking about using this office fir oral surgery I’d think twice!

When I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist explained that they had called, left a voicemail, and emailed me that my doctor would be unable to keep the appointment. There is no VM on my phone. The email they sent was not the email in my file. The receptionist said I could reschedule; however, it would be a couple of months. A couple of months is January. He offered June (which is SEVERAL months). I wasted time and gas money driving out the appointment with no apology, empathy, or effort to reschedule promptly. This team represents the worst in customer service. I would not recommend this firm.

I've been a patient at Desert Gateway Dental Group for about a year and a half, but I’ve been with the same dental group in Carlsbad for several years prior. Throughout my extensive dental work history—ranging from crowns and root canals to bone grafting and implants—I’ve seen my share of dental practices. This office stands out for several reasons.

First and foremost, I appreciate that I’m always heard here. The staff is incredibly respectful of my time, minimizing wait times and ensuring that my questions are thoroughly answered. The doctor is detail-oriented and provides comprehensive explanations, which I find invaluable.

The dental assistants, especially Marcos, are knowledgeable and friendly. Marcos, in particular, was exceptional today—his friendliness and professionalism made a significant positive impression on me.

It’s important for patients to remember that while dentists work hard to address our issues, we must also be proactive in our own care. Ask questions, do your own research, and understand how crucial dental health is to your overall well-being. Advocating for yourself and staying informed can make a big difference.

Overall, I’m very satisfied with the care I receive at Desert Gateway Dental Group and highly recommend them.

My 3-year-old daughter had such a great experience with her cleaning that she wanted her hygienist to polish her teeth again before bed. The office is beautiful and the entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!
