I needed to find a new dentist since my last one changed their insurance and Delta Dental was now out of network. I was super bummed because I loved that dental office. So I decided to try this dental office which is close to my house. When we arrived, the staff was not welcoming; just needed me to fill out an additional form. Then my kids were all called back and the staff just got to business without asking about any history or anything. Then the doctor came out, he didn't introduce himself or anything. He got straight to business examining my kids. The dentist noticed some gunk (plague or food) around some teeth on one of my kids, which happened right after she had a "cleaning" by the hygienist, and he cleaned some of it off. I also noticed some more stuff on her teeth after the dentist moved on to my other child and asked the hygienist to clean it. Honestly, I am was very disappointed with this whole appointment. The doctor spent a total of 5 minutes with all 3 kiddos. He didn't really give any feedback except, "keep up the good work", which he said to each kid. He seemed to be in a hurry and didn't slow down to even ask if I had any questions or concerns. The office space seemed crammed and not well maintained. This office was a ortho braces place and then the dental office was added and you can tell. The office was not built or planned around having many exam chairs and it shows. There were a bunch of paint chips on the wall, mismatched chairs. It feels like the whole office was just missing attention to details. I also want to mention that this office gives an incentive to any patients who leave a yelp review. So we will need to continue our search for a new dentist.

I had high hopes for Cali Kids Dental, but our visit was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the staff made little effort to introduce themselves to my 6-year-old or make him feel comfortable. For a dental office that specializes in children, I would have expected them to know how to ease a child’s nerves, but that wasn’t the case at all.

The doctor was especially unfriendly—no warm greeting, no effort to engage with my child, just straight to business with a cold demeanor. It felt more like a rushed assembly line than a place that truly cares about kids’ dental health. To make matters worse, they seemed more interested in upselling unnecessary treatments than addressing the basics. It felt like a racket rather than a professional medical service.

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a dental office that genuinely cares about creating a positive experience for your child. We definitely won’t be returning.

First visit a Taco, Javier, and Lisa were so helpful. Taco got our next appointment scheduled while we were in the chair. Javier was awesome with my daughter. Lisa helped my son and was great with him too.

I hardly ever do this, but I feel the need to express my disappointment with the communication process I have experienced over the past three days. Despite leaving three voicemails and submitting a contact request through your website, I did not receive any response. When I finally managed to reach someone today, I was informed that my daughter’s insurance is not accepted.

While I understand that your office does not accept her insurance, the failure to respond to multiple voicemails and online inquiries is unacceptable. Had I received timely communication, I would have sought assistance from other clinics. This situation reflects a disregard for the value of other people’s time.

Initially, I assumed there might have been an operational issue or that the office was closed, but this should have been communicated via voicemail or your website. The explanation given—that your phones are “messed up”—fails to address the lack of response to my online request, or take accountability that you are fixing your phone lines, if they are indeed "messed up."

Although the representative I spoke with was polite, there was no apology or meaningful resolution offered. This level of communication is concerning and sets a troubling precedent. I hope that future interactions with your office will demonstrate a more respectful and responsive approach. My expectations as a customer are not hard to meet, a return phone call or email is customer service 101.
