The receptionist was very nice and professional, she was great. I didn't mind the wait to be seen, until it hit the 2 hour mark. What kept me at ease was the fact that the staff was apologetic about the situation but then when I got called in that's when it went downhill. So they began to go over the process, then they finally decide to tell me that I have to remove my facial piercings. I understand that they have to be removed for the procedure, however, it would have been extremely helpful if they have mentioned it in instructions as they did about eating. The assistant did offer to ask Dr. Slaughter if it can be done with it, (I didn't except him to proceed) and sure enough he couldn't. So I asked the assistant why I was not notified ahead of time, her response was, "It's not her job to tell you (the receptionist) it's my job to tell you this. I didn't know you had piercings, I have not seen you before." Then Dr. Slaughter approaches me out of nowhere a little aggressively and starts to say "I'm not trying to argue with you.." And I cut him off and told him I'm not arguing, I'm just leaving. So he left, I was trying to make a suggestion to the assistant that they should mention Removing facial piercings in the Instructions. She basically cut me off short and I just told her I'll skip the appointment today. IF I HAVE TO WAIT 2 HOURS TO BE SEEN DRIVE 35 MINUTES TO AND BACK, THEN I DON'T SEE WHY THE DOCTOR OR ASSISTANTS COULD NOT HEAR ME OUT FOR A MOMENT OR ACCEPT SUGGESTIONS FROM A PATIENT. It's 2015, facial piercings are VERY common, they should at least mention it with everything else. I'm not going back, I'd rather pay more money for a root canal than to go back to a place where they cannot take suggestions from a patient.

DO NOT!!! pay this dentist any monies ahead of verification from your insurance company. I had a family emergency and was only in town for a short window of time. Because I had Care Credit I paid for my services with the belief I would be getting full reimbursement once the paperwork was processed. Companies that are willing to accept MediCal insurance know what they will pay and make adjustments to their rates accordingly. Because I paid up front this dentist is now "double-dipping" and choosing not to adjust the charges and only reimbursing me 50%. I told them to expect this review. Very bad customer service.

I am the biggest chicken when it comes to getting a tooth pulled. I've had several teeth pulled by Dr Slaughter, and I love him and his staff, they make you feel relaxed and calm, Dr.and all his staff from the front office to the back office are all very professional, friendly and well trained staff.... I love them
