am extremely disappointed with the way this dental office conducts business. I went in for services that were supposed to be covered by my insurance, and when I left, I was assured there were no issues. An hour later, I received a call saying I owed $228 for services that I never agreed to and would never have authorized had I known they weren’t covered.

This feels like a bait-and-switch, which is unacceptable for a professional office. Patients trust their dentist to provide transparency and respect their financial and insurance limitations, not to blindside them after the fact. A dentist office should never operate like this, and I will not be returning. Be cautious if you choose to go here—make sure to get everything in writing beforehand, or you may find yourself in the same frustrating situation.

Very nice staff. Tried to help me with an insurance issue. I was referred to Dr. Smith by another patient. He was very thorough and extremely nice. Went over everything with me. I was VERY nervous due to the extreme nature of my dental needs but both Anna and Dr. Smith made me feel a lot better. Very warm environment and love the music. Very happy.

My husband and I have driven to Solvang from Arroyo Grande for almost 20 years because Dr. Smith is the best dentist we have ever had. He is meticulous and painless. He explains our options clearly. The soft Hawaiian music playing during my procedures transports me back to the Islands.

I was referred to Dr Smith to repair a veneer that came off. I was so very happy to have been referred to him. Dr Smith was patient and kind and he did a fantastic repair. His front staff and assistant were all so professional and kind. I have already recommended Dr Smith to family members.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Smith's for over 30 years and live him! Not only is he knowledgeable in every aspect of dentistry, he takes a conservative approach when it comes to costly procedures. He determines if a crown is really needed, often strengthening the tooth as a preventative first. Great chairside manner! Nataliya and Donna are fabulous hygienists!

Dr. Smith is always careful and does a fabulous job. I've been a patient of his for years and everything he does is really good. I had a tooth fall out oveer the weekend and he replaced it for me today. Such a wonderful man.
