I’ve taken both my son and my daughter to Abrazo Surprise Hospital on several occasions, and every single experience has been outstanding. Over the four visits we’ve had, the doctors, nurses, and staff have consistently provided compassionate, thorough, and timely care.

Dr. Brookshire was especially amazing with my son. He listened carefully, took our concerns seriously, and ensured that my son received the appropriate level of care. He moved quickly and efficiently to get him transferred to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and we felt supported every step of the way. His professionalism and kindness meant so much to us during a stressful time.

The nursing staff has been just as wonderful—patient, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely caring. You can tell that the people here take pride in their work and truly care about the well-being of their patients.

I am incredibly grateful for the level of care we’ve received here and wouldn’t hesitate to return if we ever need medical help again. Thank you, Abrazo Surprise Hospital, for taking such great care of my family.

This is one of the best emergency rooms! Dr. Russell answered all of my questions and took my medical issues seriously and I felt very well taken care of. The nurses there are also exceptional! Lynn and the nursing student Leah treated me like a person and not my medical issue. The staff took the time to contact my doctors who are not affiliated with Abrazo to discuss my care. The facility is clean and brand new. I also have to thank the tech Lionel who shared his personal experience with his health journey to help me feel seen and heard. I will not hesitate to go back there in the future!

Took my wife to Abrazzo yesterday with stomach issues. She needed a CT scan with contrast. She indicated that her Nurse was amazing. She also got in and out fairly quickly, which is awesome.
Wanted to do this review mainly about Pat who did her CT scan. It was quite scary for my wife and she said that Pat was compassionate and caring. He deserves 5 stars for helping her get through the test with a positive and caring attitude.

Yesterday, I went to Abrazo to be seen for an injury to my ribs. The woman at the check in desk seemed extremely annoyed and had an attitude when asking me what I want to be seen for. I’m 61 years old and injured myself while trying to trim a bush in front of my house. In the past, I’ve had torn Cartlidge in the ribs and I know what it feels like. So I’m pretty sure that’s part of the problem. The doctor ordered an x-ray and said there was a contusion on the chest wall. The pain is overwhelming! Not sure if it’s because of my age or what. My records will show that I have never had an addiction problem or anything like that. I am one to use all natural alternatives, if possible. It almost felt as if they saw me as someone who was seeking drugs. The student nurse and x-ray tech were among the nicest, but the doctor kind of brushed me off. He spent maybe one whole minute in the room and told me to just take some ibuprofen and put some ice on it. Due to a previous surgery, I was warned not to take ibuprofen so I questioned him about that and as he was walking out the door, he said, “just take Tylenol.” I really don’t think this doctor understands how much pain I’m in. Tylenol is not touching this! The ER visit was quite expensive! There has to be some alternative to ibuprofen that can help with the inflammation because I’m sure that’s what the problem is. I need help with this, which is why I went to the ER to begin with!

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the care I received at abrazo surprise on September 2, 2025 around 10 PM.
I have been a patient here before and have had excellent experiences with Dr. Brice Brookshire, who has treated my hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) related abscesses with compassion and skill multiple times. However, my recent encounter with Dr. Brandon Intrieri was the complete opposite.

I came to the ER seeking relief from a painful abscess in my vaginal area, a recurring issue due to my HS. Dr. Intrieri questioned why I was seeking ER care, implying I shouldn't have come if I wasn't in enough pain. (mind you, I told him I was in severe pain and was crying to him to do something to help me) He then questioned me about my medication prescribed by my dermatologist, stating that if I was taking doxycycline, it should be working, and I wouldn’t be in this predicament. I explained that I had taken doxycycline and it hadn’t worked, and that my dermatologist was now prescribing injections as a stronger dose. He simply shrugged his shoulders and responded dismissively with, "Yeah, OK." He refused to provide any pain relief or drain the abscess, despite my explaining how much it was affecting my daily life and begging for help. When I mentioned how Dr. Brookshire had helped me in the past multiple times,he seemed uninterested.

To make matters worse, Dr. Intrieri abruptly stormed out of the room in a rude manner and did not return after I told him i’m not happy with what he decided to do. His behavior left me feeling belittled, ashamed, and completely uncared for. It was a stark contrast to the positive experiences I've had with Dr. Brookshire. I urge Abrazo to address Dr. Intrieri's bedside manner and ensure that all patients receive compassionate, respectful care. No one should be made to feel the way I feel now especially when seeking medical help. this is something I will not be taking lately and I will not stop until something has been done.
I also would like to add Lynn the RN was amazing to me. she was super compassionate and caring!!

My daughter chose to come here due to how close it was to home & the amount of pain she was in. I was skeptical because of the reviews but I'm so glad we didn't let those hinder the decision. She recieved such compassionate service from the time she was put in a room, which was so quick. They did imaging and labs quickly. The ER room & inpatient rooms have been extremely clean. In- patient rooms are large and comfortable. The nurse assistant, nursing staff, nurse practitioner & physician are informative, helpful, & kind. She's received top notch care. Thank you!

Wish I could leave zero stars. This place is NOT an Urgent Care facility. Went in for something very minor and ended up with almost $8,000 that went toward my deductible that I now owe. My insurance has a $75 copay for Urgent Care, but they treated it as an ER visit. I was obviously not in distress. There was not one person in the building other than an extremely unfriendly receptionist. She didn’t request any insurance information or share any details regarding my coverage. I was given a tablet to fill out my details in a waiting room. I saw the Dr for 5 minutes and he gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. It wasn’t until I left that the receptionist finally said I owed this insane amount. I could have done this same thing at a CVS Minute Clinic, but people said it was quick and convenient. Had the receptionist bothered to check my insurance and explain it wouldn’t be treated as an Urgent Care visit, I’d of walked out. If you have gold plated insurance with zero out of pocket, you may not care what they charge. However, for the majority of us, be aware they are way overcharging insurance companies. Extremely expensive mistake on my part, but now I can certainly understand the poor reviews. I will never set foot in there again. Shame on you Abrazo for highlighting everything that is broken with healthcare.
