I recently went in for a general cleaning. The dentist who recently purchased this practice. I went in for a simple cleaning and I opted not to have an x-ray done. When I was seen by the dentist, I was not made to feel at ease or comfortable…my impression was that I was not going to be able to get a simple cleaning and that their objective was to aggressively look to bill for whatever they could. While I was in the office, I overheard the dentist ask what seemed like an elderly patient to solicit her children for money to pay for her dental care.

My initial reaction was to run from this dentist’s office, which is what I did.

This place is a revolving door of mediocre and inexperienced dentists. They literally don’t have any employee retention.
In addition, they tried to sneak a $500 charge to my crown. Told me it was for a 5 yr warranty, which a crown shouldn’t need (they are intended to last beyond 10 yrs). To boot, my insurance would cover damage within a 5 yr timeframe. They tried to slip it in without acknowledging it and without explaining it. I’m so grateful I inquired, although I imagine they’ve been overcharging me for years because I am trustworthy.
If that isn’t enough to deter you, the dentist I saw yesterday tried to fix the wrong tooth. I had to insist it was a different one causing me pain.
Please please see a more reputable dentist in Marin.

The entire office staff was wonderful! The dentist has a great bedside manner, took her time and explained everything to me. I never felt rushed one time. I moved here, took a chance on a new dentist and couldn’t have had a better experience! Highly recommend and couldn’t have been happier at any other office.

The best dental experience I’ve ever had! The staff & my dentist went above and beyond to get my squeezed in for additional treatments after my cleaning. They are so sweet and understanding and honestly just make you feel right at home. Highly recommend if you are in the Marin / Greenbrae area.

Unbelievable! If you go here BUYER BEWARE! I was over charged on my co-pay - over $700. I pay attention to the statements my insurance company sends out and I highly recommend you all do the same. I tried to call - several times- to get this rectified and the person at the front desk seemed less than concerned and told me that only one person can help me and they don't come in the office everyday and would get back to me. I finally called my insurance company and they advocated for me calling them. The dental office said it would take one to two months! One to two months to refund MY money. Why? Why so long? It's not a corporate office, it's a small office. Why such the slow turn around? Bottom line this is very shady, whether they intend to rip people off or maybe it's just plain incompetence- either way this is totally unacceptable. I think they rely on people not paying attention. Look at your statements from your insurance company! Or better yet - do not use this dental office. There are many. I have never had an issue like this before, never. I am shocked that they have such a high rating. For those of you who are loyal customers with insurance - Look at those explanation of benefits they send you every time you have an office visit and look at what you paid them and compare it to what your company said you owed. I am willing to bet you may be due a refund. Sincerely the WORST dental office I ever had to deal with! Put in a formal complaint through my insurance company and they are now investigating them. I have a feeling I am not the only one. They still owe me money from April. They had no intention of paying me back. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS!

DO NOT GO HERE!

I was with my last dentist for 7 years before they had to change policy and my insurance was no longer in network.

During my first visit to Greenbrae Dental Center, my first thought was how run down this place is. The walls were damaged, the equipment was old, and overall vibe screams unorganized and cluttered.

The dental assist who preformed my cleaning was pleasant and kind, however once the doctor came in to review my x-rays she immediately tells me that I need to two crowns on my back teeth. I was shocked, my last dentist and I had a wonderful transparent relationship with one another and never did he once state he was even considering crowns for those teeth. I expressed my concern to the doctor and although she went into more detail as to why she felt I needed the crowns I was still not onboard with her recommendations and I told her I would need a second opinion. She then goes on to tell me that ever dentist will have their own opinion and then tells the dental assist that he can go ahead and dismiss me.

I have never experienced such unprofessionalism - no bed side manner what to ever! The entire experience was completely shocking.

If you are in Marin and are looking for a great dental office with a wonderful and warm staff, this is not the place for you.

Very disappointed with their staff turnover, care approach and billing.
I don't like leaving negative reviews but this company cannot go unchecked any longer.
I have been a patient for seven years. I come every 6 months and I have never had the same dentist two times (other than Dr. Baumgartner who was there, left, returned, then left again.) I feel like they are just here to give you the maximum number of procedures and upsell you on things like night guards and Invisalign. I always feel like I am being sold to, not personally taken care of.
They charged me huge $$$ up front for an implant, then when I got my insurance statements back, I noticed I had overpaid by more than $400. I had to go back and forth with them for weeks to get my money back. If I hadn't noticed it I bet they would've never refunded it.
Again this week, I went in for a cleaning, they said I had an outstanding balance of $346 for services from 18 months ago. No bills, no statements. Just "pay now." And now I have to go back to early 2022 with my insurance to verify all this. BECAUSE I DO NOT TRUST GREENBRAE DENTAL.
Sorry, this place feels like it's become a shady money machine with HIGH staff turnover. Every person I saw there this week is new. I will not be giving them another cent of my (Or my insurance company's) money. Whoever is in charge/owns this place should be investigated.

My dentist experience with Dr Kim deserves five stars. Going to the dentist is something I dread but I have to say it was the most pleasant dental experience I can ever remember. He is very gentle and checked with me frequently to make sure I was fine. There isn’t a long wait to get an appointment. The office also seemed very safe during these Covid times.
