I hate to leave negative review, but I really upset that my teeth were ruined because misdiagnosed, I had to spend alot of money to fix them somewhere else. I went there every 3 month, and they took xray every time, but didn't say anything, until I feel my teeth weren't right...and they didn't refer me to an in-network specialist for my insurance and the referral specialist was rough...

I highly recommend Dr. Mariano's Smiles of Imperial Beach. All the stuff are amazing! My dentist and hygienist and dental assistants were highly professional. Also Aileen at the front desk makes everything smooth when it comes to scheduling appointments, very organized. I had to bring my son to my appointment but even if the root canal process normally takes longer than regular cleaning and extraction, my son had a comfortable and safe place to stay while waiting for me! Love this place! Thank you all and keep up the good work!

This place is total trash dentist is nice but the staff is rude. The dentist doesn't know what he's doing. I had to go in for a emergency root canal. He did a root canal but it failed. Because it failed it got infected so he prescribed me a antibiotic Wich eventually got me real sick for months. I then saw a doctor an he told me I had C Diff. After that I saw another dental specialists took Ex rays an told me He couldn't believe that I left the building with A root canal that looked that bad. He then told me he couldn't perform another root canal because the other dentist shaved my tooth down so low. An if he did the root canal there would be like a 50/50 % chance of the procedure failing. So my second option was to pull the tooth. So the root Canal specialist actually called the previous dentist an told him what a horrible job he did on my tooth. I got a call from the previous dentist telling me how sorry they were an they were gonna refund all money lol. I was so sick an in so much pain for months. So finally I got a second opinion on the tooth Wich conformed the specialist saying that the tooth needed to be extracted because the tooth was so infected. So I lost the tooth because of this bad dentist. I think he is good with cavity's but please people DO NOT go to this dentist for a root canal!! I had to be on a nasty antibiotic for the C diff for months. An this antibiotic caused me to get horrible GERD. All this for a bad Root Canal. I walked away with a missing tooth an a bad Ulcer Stomach. Hahaha, Believe me people I couldn't have made this up!!!

Ever since my hisband retired from the military, like 12 years ago, us and my kids have always recieved amazing service from him. We do miss carmen the old office manager, bit the new one is also great.

The experience we had at this dental office was amazing. It's unfortunate the previous review had an issue with Carmen because my experience with her was the opposite. She was extremely helpful, kind, understanding, and experienced. All of the staff are extremely helpful and made our experience great. Even my 4 year old had a great appointment. I am recommending this dentist office to my family and friends here in IB.

If you are looking for a dentist to go to, Dr Arnel Mariano is very good! I been going to this dentist for more than 20 years. I always had a very good experience here & you can trust Dr Arnel Mariano with your dental work. I love Maricel, she is the hygienist and so great! She will clean your teeth good. And Carmen at the front desk, she is very kind and always helpful and very nice to me and my kids. Believe me you will have an amazing experience here getting your teeth worked on!

Since Carmen left the front office is disorganized, discusses patient data in front of other patients, HIPPA violation, cancels appointments frequently, and handles issues without compassion, empathy, and with disregard to their schedules and needs. They have lost my family as clients and I suspect based on other observations they will be losing more.

Don’t call, Carmen the receptionist is useless!

I recently moved to the South San Diego area from Lemon Grove and called for dental service. Carmen answered and began to take my info. During the call Carmen began to talk to me as if I was bothering her, and took a condescending tone over the phone. I gave her my name, DOB, SSN, and dental insurance company name. She began to question if I really have insurance and express doubt that I did. I informed her most places I’ve called before take my info down and then THEY look it up to confirm.

She then again began to talk down to me asking how do you not know what state your insurance is from... I told her she was no help and ended the phone call

I hope the Dentist, Mariano DDS reads this so he knows Carmen shoo’s away his potential customers because she has an attitude problem
