I moved back home to SD after living away for many years and was in need to find a reliable dentist. I have had bad experience with previous dentists who were not transparent with their billings with me and just horrible attitude from the front desk, full dishonesty in general. I was recommended by a good friend to come to Origin Dental and I’m glad I did! Within minutes of arrival, the assistant came to reassure me that they would take me in soon and apologized for the delay (even though I was the one that came 5mins late). I was taken care of quickly and everything moved smoothly according to schedule with absolutely no long wait gaps in between. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Dr. Tran is so attentive and caring that I can tell he’s very experienced and genuine. He carefully explained every single details/process/every step, even gave me analogies to make sure I have complete understanding about my teeth. He was very very transparent with my treatment plan, no wishy washy. Took his time to answer all my questions. Overall, i want to say I finally found THE ONE stable/reliable dentist that I can trust my dental health with moving forward.

I had my new patient dental appointment at Origin Dental today. It was a very pleasant experience. I received all the X-Rays, dental scans and oral comprehensive examination. Dr. Tran provided a personalized dental care plan specific for my needs and was very informative on all the procedures he recommended. I did not feel pressured to schedule anything. I also received a breakdown of what my insurance could cover and what I would be financially responsible for. I really appreciate their transparency before booking any procedures. The staff was very friendly from the moment I walked into their office to the moment I left. The facilities are beautiful and they seem to have very modern advanced technology. I look forward to all my future visits here at Origin Dental.

Origin is ALWAYS on time and they make you feel like you're the only patient they have—greet you by name, the wait is always under 5 mins, they make a concerted effort to engage you in a pleasant conversation - “How was your holiday?” Recognizable music is always playing in the background, there is almost always a pleasant scene on the screen for patients to view while in the dentist chair, lots of please and thank you...its almost like a trip to the spa! Haha! I feel very respected there. I like being treated with dignity. Its a classy place. Dr Tran is a knowledgeable dentist w a razor sharp eye when cosmetic dentistry is needed…I felt 100% confident in him and he went to great lengths to ensure that a new veneer on my front tooth (!!!) was BEAUTIFUL and is identical to my real tooth. He took the time and it showed. He's a perfectionist—Thank God. Couldn't be happier. Dr Tran has the dental business on lock.

I wanted to share an important update regarding my recent experience at Origin Dental. After my initial visit to address an issue I was having when flossing between my two back molars, it was discovered that the old filling had chipped, causing the flossing problem. Dr. Tran replaced the old filling with a new one. However, immediately afterward, I developed cold sensitivity in the area Dr. Tran had worked on. As many know, cold sensitivity can sometimes indicate a more serious issue, like nerve damage, potentially leading to costly procedures such as a root canal and crown. Naturally, I was very concerned, fearing the worst.

When I returned the following week for my scheduled full exam, Dr. Tran listened to my concerns and reassured me with a calm, professional approach. He explained that I likely just needed a minor adjustment, which he promptly made. Fortunately, the sensitivity completely resolved within a day.

I’m sharing this update to let others know that cold sensitivity after dental work doesn’t always signal a serious issue. Sometimes, a quick adjustment can resolve it, so don’t hesitate to reach out to your dentist.

Additionally, I had a dental cleaning today with Michael, the hygienist, and I can’t speak highly enough of his work. Having been in the dental field for over 20 years, I know a great hygienist when I see one, and Michael is truly one of the best. He was incredibly professional, informative, and did a fantastic job. Personally, I prefer a cleaning that uses the Cavitron along with hand scaling, and he executed it flawlessly. My teeth looked amazing afterward. If you’re in need of a dental cleaning, I highly recommend asking for Michael—he’s amazing!

Dr. Tran and his team continue to impress, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Origin Dental.

Local to Mira Mesa and have been through many dentists after my long time dentist retired and moved. The previous “work” I had done did more damage to my wallet and mouth. Last year, I was having severe sharp pain (and on a weekend!) I needed to book an appointment fast and be seen ASAP. The previous dentist was on yet another vacation, but I found Origin Dental online. Thumbing through reviews, I knew that I would be taken care of. It was so EASY to book an appointment online and be seen too. A year later, staff continues to be amazing! I used the easy online scheduling (they have a dyslexic format option too- yay me!) checked in online and was seen to. They gave me a courtesy call the day before my appointment and checked me in the following day quickly. They answered all the questions I had and sat me in a separate room when reviewing my insurance/dental invoice. The office is easy to locate with parking and places to eat nearby. Inside they offer free WI-FI, spaced comfortable clean seating and clean modern decor. The office is super relaxing, I know? A dentist office feeling relaxing? It doesn’t even feel or smell like a typical dental office. Everyone there is super knowledgeable, friendly and not pushy. I’ve seen both doctors and most of the assistants. They really bump up the experience being sat in that reclining chair. Modern equipment and taking X-rays of your mouth without injuring or cuts, heaven! I use to hate biting down on that nasty hard plastic tab, they would seriously cut my mouth. So it’s nice to not have that at Origin Dental. Highly recommend for anyone of all ages and sensitivities! Thank you for help keeping me healthy!

I’ve been going to Dr. Tran for dental work and Danielle for cleanings since 2017. Top notch service and care each and every time. Very modern dental equipment and super friendly staff. Highly recommend!

I had an appointment with them today and everyone was so nice and professional. I’m a new patient and they did a lot for a first visit. They took some X-Rays, checked out my gums, the doctor came in looked at my teeth, and went through all the plans and expenses for everything they suggested I need to do. They didn’t try to oversell me anything, so when I get paid I’ll definitely be coming back and getting them cleaned. I highly recommend this place! The place is very clean and it looks like a new building.
