I have been a client at Orinda Dental Care forever! They manage my routine dental care, and my invisalign. Dr. Morgan and her office are practicing state of the art dentistry. The office is warm and friendly, efficient but NEVER impersonal. Every single member of their team greets me and inquires about my well-being. I feel safe in their hands! Give them a call!

The team is always so great there. Reception and billing is professional, prompt and works urgently to keep everyone on time. The dental team is always very caring, gentle and thorough. They explain everything and show you what they are talking about on the screen. Great follow up with next appointments etc. Great team all around!

Summary: They do incomplete work.

- Last time when I visited they haven't done scanning correctly with or without intent. And they redirected me wisdom teeth removal to another office then the office said they had to do another scan because the scans from the office is no readable.

- They suggested deep cleaning but it is worthless, my teeth became unhealthier after the operation.

- They add suggestions that are not covered by insurance. Please be aware, you will be getting charged for those with 0 insurance coverage at all. When I talked to my insurance these are not approved items by any insurance.

Changing out an OLD crown. I was anxious about the procedure. From start to finish it was painless and much faster than I expected. Dr. Morgan has a gentle approach and checked on me often to make sure I was doing OK.
Her staff is awesome as well! I’m a big fan!

The staff and Dr. Morgan are all amazing! Truly some of the most seamless, easy going service with the most dedicated customer care staff! She takes time to truly break down her care plan and make sure you understand what she is doing and why as well as the impact of the treatment.

Even at 8am they all have smiles on their faces! My father and I have done multiple cleanings and Invisalign treatments and have both been impressed!

For years I've always been shy and self conscious about my teeth. I always thought there was no way to fix them due to the over-crowding and overlapping. Dr.Morgan and her wonderful staff gave me that confidence back! Although I am not done yet with my treatments, I can already feel and see vast improvements!

I recently phoned Dr. Morgan's office on an emergency basis for what I thought was a cracked crown. She worked me into her schedule on that very day. It turned out to be a cracked tooth and destroyed old filling, which she replaced with a new crown. I was pleased that all of this was done on the same day - no temporary crown to deal with. The entire experience was pleasant and professional, including Dr. Morgan's complete staff. I whole-heartedly recommend this dental practice and plan to return.

Dr. Mehranfard runs this practice to maximize revenue, and will offer quite a lot of dental work you might not need in the process. After spending most of my life going to a family dentist in my home state, and always having very good teeth, I tried this practice when I moved nearby. On my first visit, I noticed the hygienist didn't take very much time with my cleaning, and then recommended a "deep cleaning." I'd gotten lax with dental visits during the pandemic and it sounded like a good idea. Then the dentist looked at my teeth, and I could almost sense her disappointment that I had no fillings or cavities. She quickly recovered and offered to make me a mouth guard for what she called "micro-cracks" from clenching my teeth in my sleep. I was pretty sure my long-time dentist would have found such an issue if it existed, so I declined and she didn't press the issue. They also painted a quick fluoride varnish on my teeth, which hasn't happened to me since I was a kid.

When I looked at the print-out for my future "deep cleaning" I realized it was a root planing, covered by insurance, along with a laser treatment that was going to cost about $360 out of pocket. I went ahead with the planing and skipped the laser. Then I noticed they had me down as having "periodontal disease" and said I would need cleanings every four months. Periodontal disease implies bone loss--did I have bone loss?

When I went for my four-month cleaning, the hygienist pointed out a tiny void along the "seam" of a bottom molar and said it might or might not need a filling. The dentist immediately agreed that I would need a "very small filling" and I should come back next week. They also tried to paint another fluoride varnish on my teeth. I declined. I was getting more and more skeptical of this practice and decided to get a second opinion. I noticed at home that I actually had an identical tiny void on a molar on the other side of my mouth, and the dentist had not mentioned putting a filling in that one--did she not see it, or was she just following her hygienist's suggestions?

Since I would be visiting home for the holidays in a few months, I made an appointment at my old dentist--who had actually sold his practice to a new dentist. During my appointment, I got a much more thorough cleaning, taking well over an hour and getting rid of many surface stains that had been bothering me. The hygienist told me that my gums measured 4 in just a couple of spots but I did not have any signs of periodontal disease. The dentist then looked at my mouth and x-rays, said "Wow, you have really great teeth" and sent me on my way.

The take-away: Orinda Dental has a very high turnover of hygienists (I had 3 different ones and none are on the current website), and they are not allotted enough time to clean your teeth properly. The dentist looks for ways to maximize insurance revenue, like root planings, 4-month cleanings and unnecessary fluoride treatments, and may suggest fillings or other work that isn't actually needed.

I for one will never go back.
